Johnson & Johnson is currently recruiting a Competitive Intelligence Manager (New Consumer Health Company). This position is located in New Brunswick, NJ, and is open to candidates in New York and New Jersey.

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Consumer Health business to create a new publicly traded company. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 24 months, and it will be subject to legal requirements including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as required, and other customary conditions and approvals.   

It is anticipated that, following the conclusion of the transaction, this position may be conveyed with New Consumer Health. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to the successful candidate by New Consumer Health at an appropriate time and would be subject to any necessary consultation processes.  

Job Description: 

  • Manage quarterly competitor forecast updates including consolidating financial projections, analyzing industry and competitor behavior and trends, developing financial messaging, and benchmarking against competitive composites to drive insights and improved business performance 

  • Identify emerging industry opportunities and connect them back to the Company’s overall strategy 

  • Present competitor and industry insights to the CFO and leadership teams identifying the underlying drivers of performance and effectively communicating opportunities for improvement 

  • Lead insight generation regarding the market environment, competitor performance, and business segment implications to proactively address key business issues and support strategic development  

  • Support external analytics for Investor Relations, SOX reporting requirements of the bus,iness and other ad hoc requests  

  • Partner with internal analytics and planning & strategy teams to integrate external best practices into internal KPIs and target setting processes  

  • Provide guidance to the team of analysts to become subject matter experts in the areas of reports generation, data management, and analytics 

  • Drive initiatives to streamline/automate external data collection

Position Requirements: 

  • A minimum bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting  

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in reporting or business analytics 

  • Knowledge and understanding of the external markets, competitive landscape in the Consumer Health industry, competitive analysis as well as a thorough understanding of key metrics for companies in the industry 

  • Experience with external markets, competitive intelligence and analysis, treasury, capital markets, investment banking, or investor relations in the Consumer Health sector

  • The capability of navigating financial statements (Income Statements, Balance Sheet & Statement of Cash Flow) and GAAP to Non-GAAP reconciliations  

  • Highly motivated individual a with a strong background in strategic and analytical thinking clearly demonstrated strong framing and presentation skills and welcomes challenging situations and assignments. 

  • Project management skills - ability to work on problems/projects of diverse complexity and scope 

  • Demonstrated ability to partner and communicate effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders at all levels of the organization 

  • Must demonstrate the ability to execute thoroughly in a fast-paced work environment, adapting quickly to changing conditions to achieve results. 

  • Expert in reporting and metrics development, implementation and rollout  

  • A strong natural affinity for structuring and organizing large amounts of data to support continually evolving reporting needs 

Preferred Requirements: 

  • Data visualization and reporting certifications 

  • Prior experience in the Consumer industry is highly preferred 

  • Knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles 

  • Exposure to financial planning & reporting systems and tools 

  • MBA or other relevant post graduate degree 

  • Proficient at Bloomberg or other systems to pull external data  

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of tools and have an intermediate to advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
