Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Consumer Health business to create a new publicly traded company. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 24 months, and it will be subject to legal requirements including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as required, and other customary conditions and approvals.        
 It is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, this position may be conveyed with New Consumer Health. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to the successful candidate by New Consumer Health at an appropriate time and would be subject to any necessary consultation processes.     

Position Description: 

 The External Affairs Compliance Coordinator will be a key member of an agile, impactful global External Affairs team, within the Global Corporate Affairs (GCA) function that drives strategic advocacy, reputation management, stakeholder engagement, and social impact aligned to business objectives. This role will work directly with the Head of External Affairs, providing specialized administrative support and coordination to ensure Political and HCC compliance across the Public Affairs, Policy, Government Affairs and Community Impact teams. This role will have one direct report who manages Executive Assistant responsibilities for the Head of External Affairs and leadership team. 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Collaborates with Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance SMEs to ensure regulatory requirements are understood and appropriate registration, reporting, and training processes are established for the planned NCHC. 

  • Leads execution of training and oversight of SOPs guiding lobbyist registration and reporting that adheres to Company and market-specific regulation. 

  • Mitigates reputational and regulatory risk by ensuring compliance through ongoing activity tracking and monthly reporting, as required.  

  • Works with the Global Community Impact Leader and team to conduct and maintain appropriate due diligence for all Community Impact partners and initiatives including product and financial donations, partnerships, and collaborations. 

  • Works effectively across multiple functions and geographies to support the seamless delivery of External Affairs programs. 

  • Performs advanced administrative responsibilities, i.e., composes correspondence; prepares documents of a highly confidential and sensitive nature; maintains complex and fluid calendars; executes rigorous follow-up by ensuring issues are resolved and projects completed. 

  • Prepares correspondence, prepares, and organizes files, assembles relevant data as directed.  

  • Assists as needed with special projects for the External Affairs team by identifying problems, collaborating with the leadership team to determine solutions, and ensuring they are resolved using tracking systems, communication plans, and/or other project management tools.  

  • Oversees the External Affairs Executive Assistant, providing guidance and support to ensure exceptional administrative support to the Head of External Affairs and leadership team, located around the world. 

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $84,000 to $135.700


Position Requirements:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience supporting senior management engaged in lobbying, stakeholder engagement, and community impact activities. 

  • Strong knowledge of lobbyist/political registration and reporting requirements and HCC SOPs. 

  • Experience vetting and building productive relationships with non-profit organizations and partners. 

  • Must be a self-starter, able to build relationships with external stakeholders, and drive toward outcomes aligned to business strategy. 

  • Must be capable of interacting with staff and senior level business partners from regions throughout the world. 

  • Must possess the ability to work independently without direction. 

  • Advanced skills in Outlook, Power Point, Word, and Excel are required.  

  • Knowledge of SharePoint, Microsoft Office 365 or similar digital content development and management platforms is required. 

  • Strong organizational skills and being detail-oriented are required. 

  • Experience with Domestic and International Travel Arrangements is required. 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.  

  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills required. 

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills required. 

  • Must possess ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion, independently assess, and resolve complex situations and shift priorities as the need arises. 

  • Must demonstrate flexibility, while maintaining sense of urgency.
