We are seeking an Associate Director, Professional Education – Surgery, who will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive medical education strategy. This includes the development and implementation of a Surgical training program. This individual will be responsible for creating and managing comprehensive educational programs targeted at Surgeons including fellows. This leader will build a team who will play a pivotal role in enhancing product understanding, procedural knowledge, and best practices associated with the Abiomed portfolio of products. Additionally, they will be responsible for running successful end-to-end education programming and developing measurement tools to assess impact.

Job Requirements

  • Oversee the implementation of educational programs, including workshops, training sessions, webinars, and symposia, both in-person and virtually.
  • Set strategy for speaker programs and other peer-to-peer initiatives, including program design, speaker engagement, and content strategy.
  • Cultivate relationships with key opinion leaders, professional societies, and academic institutions to foster partnerships and enhance program credibility.
  • Engage with healthcare professionals to understand their educational needs and gather feedback for continuous program improvement.
  • Organize, conduct, and share readouts from advisory boards aligned with surgery Heart Failure.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to develop a congress and conference presence, including organizing sponsorships and cross-functional tactics and priorities.
  • Develop and implement mechanisms for evaluating the effectiveness and impact of educational programs, utilizing metrics such as participant feedback, knowledge assessments, and performance outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, including but not limited to accreditation standards, industry codes of conduct.
  • Maintain strong partnership with Medical Affairs field team and eventually Sales, for provider engagement and field insights and market development execution.

Qualificações

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred.

Required:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in professional education within a medical device or pharmaceutical organization, with more than 2 years’ experience leading a full-service professional education team.
  • Established relationships with Key Opinion Leaders in Cardiothoracic surgery.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to diverse audiences, as well as collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to drive results and adapt to evolving market dynamics.
  • Strong understanding of medical devices, MCS procedures, and clinical applications.
  • Ability to travel up to 75%.

Preferred:

  • MCS experience.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for medical meetings and events.

T he anticipated base pay range for this position is $131,000 - $210,450

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

§ Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance.

§ Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

§ This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.

§ Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

  • Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year
  • Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year
  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year
  • Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
