Being the lead finance role in India for the MedTech business - JJMI (Johnson & Johnson Medtech India), this position is responsible for the delivery and analysis of financial performance, assessment and quantification of risks and opportunities for the business, and establishment of a strong compliance environment. The individual will be directly responsible for setting up and executing the business strategy and providing support to commercial leadership, while playing a significant role in the standardization, development, and preparation of management reports.
The role reports directly to CFO and VP of Finance Medical Devices Asia Pacific, and requires strong collaboration with MedTech India Leadership Teams, viz. the Managing Director, Business Leads, as well as regional key stakeholders and cross function and Finance cross pillar leaders in India.
The role will be a key member of the MedTech leadership team (MANCOM), the Commercial Leadership Team (CLT), the Regional Finance Leadership Team (RFLT), the Health Care Compliance Committee (HCC Committee), the Board of Directors for the Legal Entity (J&J Private Limited) and on any other committee as may be warranted with time.
As a key member of the MedTech India Leadership team, the individual has a strategic role in the overall management of business in India. The role is responsible for managing all financial performance and Finance team management – Performance Management, Financial Control & Reporting, Strategic Financial Planning, Budget and Forecast, Team Management & Compliance etc.
J&J MedTech India is the market leader in the categories in which it operates. The Indian economy is growing and there are increasing budget allocations and investments in healthcare by the Government and private sector, in metros as well as the smaller tier geographies. With all this, India is a focus market that promises great growth potential. Hence there is significantly increasing complexity as well, and a very high talent profile is expected for this role. The role is expected to navigate through these new challenges and opportunities, and closely partner with external and internal stakeholders to shape and drive India towards accelerated growth over the next 3-5 years.
The position is based in Mumbai, India
Responsibilities and Scope:
Financial performance and growth
- Lead Financial Strategy by providing cogent, evolving strategic insights and analytics at JJMI and Business Unit level to ensure performance
- Ensure objectivity, standardization across BUs in relation to adherence to WW and accounting standards
- Set and dynamically review Financial forecasts – both short-term and long-term – through extensive scenario building
- Proactively track and ensure that the financial forecasts are met: P&L, Cash flows, SLOB
Business Support
- Support the Managing Director in achieving the business goals by providing regular financial updates
- Partner with Business to operationalise the JJMI Vision
o Track the regular hygiene and health of the business
o Review new GTM models and their viability
o Regular visits to Customers, Hospitals, Warehouses etc
- Risk Assessment
o Plan and decide quantum of re-investment of funds to fuel accelerated growth commitments by Business
o Review ROI for new projects
o Assess Risk Factors encompassing but not limited to, domains of Financial, Legal, Tax etc. to ensure that JJMI is adequately covered financially
Compliance and Controls
- Ensure compliant financials
- SOX Compliance: Regular reviews of P&L, BS with BSARs and Cashflow metrics to ensure financial compliance.
- Ensure and support FCPA, HCC Compliance for all financial requirements
External & Regional
- External: Meetings with Bankers, Auditors, Consultants to maintain business relationships and review financial hygiene
- Regional: Regular connects with Regional teams - Finance, FP&A, Signify, Treasury, Compliance, Supply Chain
System and infrastructure improvements
Assess cross-functional systems and advise on relevant improvements from a futuristic perspective Eg: Retailing and Invoicing, Incentives, PDCs, JJCore, Network Optimisation etc.
Talent
- Develop a strong Finance team and outline a clear Succession plan at all levels
- Foster a culture of experimentation and innovation at every level
- Accelerate Talent engagement at all levels
- Create and facilitate opportunities for talent to demonstrate their capabilities through GROW assignments across other functions and geographies
- Rotate and retain talent
- Train and export talent for Regional and Global roles
- Team size is about 12 with a direct reporting of about 4 members
Statutory CFO
- Signing CFO for the Legal Entity viz Johnson & Johnson Private Limited
- Assessment of the Legal Entity performance and accounts
- Scrutiny of Internal Audit reports
- Discussions with Statutory and Internal Auditors on performance and controls
Qualificações
A minimum of MBA, CA, CPA, CMA, and/or other advanced degree(s) or financial certification(s) preferred.
A minimum of 12+ years of finance business experience is required.
Candidate must have:
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to inspire, motivate, and empower people.
- Ability to effectively influence and shape senior level business decisions.
- A strong focus on the customer with demonstrated results building partnerships and collaborating at all levels and multiple functions/affiliates.
- Strong business acumen coupled with strategic mindset.
- Experience leading implementation of successful process improvements.
- Strong technical skills.
- Up to approximately 25% domestic and international travel may be required.
