In the department of Discovery Chemistry, we currently have an internship position for 1 person (m/f/x):

Job description

As part of the small molecule discovery chemistry unit, the successful candidate will apply some of the emerging synthetic methodologies (such as electrochemistry, photocatalysis and late-stage functionalization) and technologies (such as flow chemistry and high-throughput experimentation, HTE) in the context of compound optimization. This is a unique occasion to work in a state-of-the-art industrial research facility benefiting from the guidance of high-calibre chemists. After an initial training provided by an experienced team member, the successful candidate will participate in the synthesis, and characterization of biologically active molecules applying the most recent advances in the field of organic chemistry. She/he will be exposed to a wide range of synthetic methodologies.

Your contribution

Mentored by an industry expert, you will contribute to the synthesis of and characterization of organic molecules in the context of a drug discovery project by applying the latest developments in organic chemistry. The ultimate goal of a drug discovery project is to deliver a candidate molecule that will progress in the clinical stages to reach patients in need. In this context, you will have the chance to contribute to the improvement of patients’ lives.
