The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will establish and maintain relationships with leading researchers and clinicians, also known as key opinion leaders (KOLs). This individual will help serve as a scientific peer and resource, providing input about relevant data for external customers, and internal business partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Following all internal policies and functions as the scientific expert on current and future indications for JNJ’s Autoantibody Pipeline assets.
  • Execute on medical field initiatives with the objective of providing support to specialized and complex product launches in rare diseases, where education and translation of medical information into practical insights to support clinical decision-making are key.
  • Build and maintain external relationships with recognized opinion leaders and/or investigators to foster collaboration throughout the lifecycle of the drug.
  • Identify and address scientific needs of opinion leaders and investigators, while staying abreast of current scientific trends within the applicable rare diseases.
  • Provide clinical support to opinion leaders treating a number of diseases with initial focus on benign hematologic and maternal-fetal autoantibody driven conditions.
  • Expand JNJ’s footprint by engaging with community physicians, on the clinical application of our existing and future products when appropriate. Respond to unsolicited requests for scientific information via 1:1 or group discussions, and, as needed, discuss disease state concepts and in-depth medical topics aligned with the medical affairs strategy.
  • Collaborate with partners in Medical Affairs and in Clinical Research in support of Phase II to IV clinical trials, including site identification and selection. Actively participate in dissemination of final trial results. Provide support to investigator's requests for investigator-initiated studies according to company guidelines.
  • Support investigator meetings in collaboration with R&D, ClinDev, and Medical Affairs partner, by providing medical and scientific data to enhance investigator understanding and maintain interest in the pipeline development.
  • Provide scientific support and leadership to business and Medical Affairs partners, including training, education, and other scientific projects.
  • Collect and communicate strategic investigator insights and intelligence on the market environment, clinical strategies, competition, and other developments relevant to JNJ’s understanding and market shaping activities.
  • Represent and support JNJ at key hematologic, maternal-fetal, and autoimmune scientific meetings including local and national congresses, symposia, advisory boards, centers of excellence, and investigator meetings.
  • Prioritize franchise customer-based initiatives and field responsibilities, while balancing administrative duties and project responsibilities.
  • Build interdependent partnerships by communicating openly and frequently with partners, demonstrating commitment to the partnership in both words and actions.
  • Demonstrate the ability to partner with others to lead or participate in large scale projects.
  • Maintain in-depth scientific and therapeutic knowledge of JNJ’s and competitive products, as well as disease state trends and hot topics.
  • Fully understand and apply MSL SOP's/guidelines and company HCC/Regulatory/Legal guidelines.
  • Function with high integrity and follow Credo values.

자격

  • Required: Advanced terminal degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, DO, DNP) w/ 2+ years relevant therapeutic area experience in rare diseases, especially benign hematology and/or maternal fetal medicine.
  • Highly preferred: experience in rare diseases, especially benign hematology and/or maternal fetal medicine, and pharmaceutical launch initiatives
  • 2-4 years MSL experience (4+ for Sr. MSL position), and/or 2-3 years relevant work exp (clinical, fellowship, or research experience) and/or related pharma work experience is required.
  • Knowledge or experience in benign hematology, maternal fetal immunology and/or autoantibody diseases is preferred.
  • A valid U.S. driver's license and clean driving record are required.
  • Ability to drive to or fly to various meetings/congresses/headquarters.
  • Travel on the Job: 70%.
  • Overnight travel, including some weekend commitments.
  • Comfort with utilization of computer, company applications, and remote technology.
  • The MSL is self-motivated, with strategic thinking and strong geographical management skills.
  • The MSL makes customers central to all thinking and recognizes/meets the diversity of customers and their needs, and consistently drives customer satisfaction.
  • This position does not offer relocation.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $113,000 to $195,500.The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

  • Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits: - Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year
  • Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year
  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year of Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
