This position will reside within the Immunology Biomarkers department and requires a highly motivated and skilled candidate to manage computational and lab-based scientists and to support biomarker-related programs by contributing to experimental design, analysis and interpretation of data, communication of findings both internally and externally, and representing biomarkers on drug development teams. Responsibilities will also include evaluating novel technological and computational approaches, both external and internal, that might impact biomarker-related programs. The Associate Director/Principal Scientist will be effective in the use of relevant computational tools for study, experiment, or trial research objectives, having demonstrated experience applying advanced data analysis techniques to high-dimensional biological data. The Associate Director/Principal Scientist will operate in a highly collaborative environment interacting with multiple internal and external stakeholders contributing high quality and timely deliverables as assessed by stakeholders such as the project team, the clinical trial team, and biomarkers leadership. The Associate Director/Principal Scientist will follow best practices for Data Integrity complying with organization and company standard operating procedures in timely fashion, such as training and project time accounting.


Qualifications
• A PhD degree in Systems Biology, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics or related discipline with post-doctoral training is required
• Experience in industry/CRO is preferred
• Experience leading individuals or project teams is required
• Proficiency with R, Python and working experience in Unix/Linux environment is preferred
• Experience applying predictive modeling / machine learning is preferred
• Experience with large scale data processing, integration and meta-analysis is preferred
• Cloud-based analysis experience is preferred
• Experience in single cell analytics is preferred
• Good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills are required
• Travel – up to 5%
