The Manager, Category Insights role is responsible for driving category strategies with Kroger that result in market leading category growth and joint value creation for both Johnson & Johnson and Kroger. This individual will be responsible for providing the customer with key shopper and category insights, developing merchandising and promotional strategies (for Kroger stores, Vitacost.com, and mobile technology), developing segmentation strategies, and more. This person will serve as the primary category resource for multiple stakeholders at Kroger including (but not limited to) Category Managers, Assistant Category Managers, Directors, business analysts, 84.51 team, and other business partners as needed. Additionally, this partner will provide business consultancy for key stakeholders in J&J in the shopper and category teams, sales strategy, and CFT. This person should be an expert in analytics, Kroger business processes, and key shopper/ category systems such as Nielsen, Market6, 84.51 (The Shop), and Apollo. This person should be able to operate a high level fast paced, complex, and changing business environment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Influence key stakeholders both internally and at the customer
• Collaborate across multiple business functions to drive strategies
• High proficiency with analytics
• Effective communication and negotiation skills
• Deliver persuasive presentations based on data-driven insights and facts to gain support for business strategies and/or initiatives
• Prioritize competing priorities and fast paced, complex environment
• Link data from multiple sources to tell a coherent, persuasive category story
• Function at a high level independent of supervision (self-starter)
• Command of Kroger business processes such as (but not limited to): transitions, revisions, category reviews, segmentation, and digital initiatives.


Qualifications
• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; MBA preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of business related experience required; experience in category management/CPG industry strongly preferred.
• Prior experience in analyzing, interpreting data, team/project management and direct customer sales required
• Ability to influence key stakeholders internally and externally with the customer
• Able to effectively collaborate across multiple business functions to drive strategies
• High proficiency with analytics required
• Strong Excel (V Lookups and Pivot Tables) and PowerPoint skills required
• Tableau preferred
• Effective communication and negotiation skills required
• Understanding of Nielsen (or syndicated data systems) is required
• Market6, 84.51 The Shop, and Apollo/JDA experience is highly preferred
• Strong command of key shopper, category, and POS metrics preferred
• Ability to deliver persuasive presentations based on data-driven insights and facts to gain support for business strategies and/or initiatives
• Ability to effectively prioritize competing priorities and fast paced, complex environment
• Ability to link data from multiple sources to tell a coherent, persuasive category story
• Ability to function at a high level independent of supervision (self-starter)
• This position has a primary location in Cincinnati, OH with up 15% of domestic travel required.
