The successful candidate will lead a team of statisticians in providing statistical expertise to the immunology Therapeutic Area (TA). The individual will collaborate with the scientists to design experiments, analyze data from the experiments, and provide statistical inference, collaborating with various clients with an emphasis on discovery research. The individual is expected to link with Early-Clinical Development for translational work and integration of information from the discovery and pre-clinical space to facilitate design of First-in-Human experiments. In the role of director discovery statistics, the individual will be embedded in cross-functional teams and will provide specialized statistical input directly to the discovery team of the immunology TA. 


The individual is expected to have excellent written and oral communication skills, Strong interaction with TA scientists and computational scientists will be required. The individual will also perform statistical research for submission-related activities where appropriate. Participation in scientific activities in the local professional community is expected. This position is open in the US based Discovery & Safety team within the Translational Medicine and Early Development unit of the Statistical Decisions Sciences, the global statistics department of Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson and Johnson..

Ph.D. in Statistics or related field with minimum 9 years relevant experience, or

Master’s in Statistics or related field with commensurate years of relevant experience.

Working knowledge of SAS and R programming.

Demonstrated leadership and management skill.

Demonstrated ability to work in interdisciplinary teams contexts outside statistics.
