JJMDC markets and distributes medical device and diagnostic solutions for use in institutional and primary health care settings across Canada. We focus on providing minimally invasive treatment options spanning various medical procedures and disease states. Among the products represented by its various business units are: surgical instruments, orthopaedic implants, devices for women’s health including breast care, infection prevention and general purpose sterilizers, hernia solutions, haemostatic products, cardiovascular and neurovascular diagnostics and treatment.

In this role you will manage contracts and be responsible for maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction through timely and correct contract processing. You will be accountable for responding to customer inquiries and providing insight into market trends from a procurement perspective for all JJMDC business unit customers within a geographical region of Canada.

Your responsibilities include:

Processing all types of proposals (Request For Quotation & Request For Proposal) received from internal and external customers. Your focus is group purchasing organizations, acute care accounts and clinics.
Processing tenders by actively coordinating business unit teams to review existing responses for common questions/clauses that can be used from other strategic responses, develop new/targeted responses and recommending responses based on industry knowledge. Coordination of translation services may be required for some tenders, in addition to providing feedback on phrasing based on industry knowledge and context.
Developing phrasing of responses in a manner that will instil customer confidence in JJMDC
Ensuring that the tenders requirements are met in a compliant manner, final documentation is submitted on time, and retained for easy retrieval according to departmental processes
Collaborating with and challenging internal marketing and sales partners to ensure the best bid response is put forward for each opportunity
Maintaining SOX and Health Care Compliance documentation as required and maintain Request For Proposal win/loss award information
Performing daily search for new tenders, review tender documents and identify significant information for the business
Addressing contract related inquiries from external customers and issuing reports for external customers as required
Liaising with the Contract Coordinators and Financial by deciphering bid information, pricing discrepancies etc.
Generating non-routine correspondence to secure additional customer information or resolve queries.
Building the relationship with Procurement function for external customers by proactively seeking feedback on current bids, current contracts and customer procurement objectives. Provide this knowledge to the Manager for incorporation into market intelligence processes
Innovating and leading contracts related process improvements that will create value for the organization
Embracing and uses all new tools and systems as requested by Management.
Participating in various initiatives as required by Management

Your demonstrated credibility, your collaboration, and your passion will deliver significant value to our business. Specifically, we require you to have:

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree
2+ years experience in contracting, contract management or tenders. Previous experience in RFP or RFQ preferred.
Bilingual (French /English) is required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel,Word, Outlook, ERP/business intelligence systems and other desktop applications.
