The Senior Scientist within the in vivo pharmacology group to support drug discovery of novel therapeutics for metabolic, and metabolic complications. The position is lab-based and the primary responsibility of the Sr. Scientist is to provide scientific and technical support for conducting research involving in vivo preclinical studies. Responsibilities include:
  • Study planning, hands-on study execution, analysis, troubleshooting and documentation according to best business practices
  • Use emerging developments in these fields to generate novel target ideas and provide technical and strategic input with the goal of progressing novel drug candidates into clinical development and beyond
  • Work in cross-functional teams, including translational medicine, discovery, biomarker teams, program project teams and disease-specific working groups, to shape a discovery and pharmacology strategy for novel drug candidates and will bring forward novel translational preclinical models and innovative technologies to support long-term plans

  • Ph.D. degree with at least 3 years of postgraduate experience in biotech/pharmaceutical industry OR a MS degree with at least 6 years experience in the metabolic field or in fibrosis-related diseases in a pharmaceutical or academic environment OR a BS degree with at least 10 years experience in the metabolic field or in fibrosis-related diseases in a pharmaceutical or academic environment is required
  • Demonstrated skills in performing pharmacological and mechanistic studies in models of metabolic, liver and/or kidney diseases is required
  • Working knowledge of pharmacology and/or drug discovery principles is required
  • Peer reviewed publication record in relevant fields is essential
  • Experience with molecular biology methods, and/or in vitro models of metabolism and signal transduction is preferred 
  • A background in models for cardiovascular, liver, metabolic and/or kidney diseases is required
