Working closely with a supervising regulatory attorney, the paralegal will review advertising and promotional materials for a range of medical devices to ensure consistency and compliance with applicable laws and regulations and manage and coordinate comments from other legal reviewers as they relate to such materials. He or she will assist in deploying and maintaining a database of approved materials and current standardized language with underlying substantiation and assisting with competitive advertising or value analysis of various products or brands. Additionally, the paralegal will be responsible for helping the commercial organization in the development of product claims and program communications designed to support the commercial organization in an efficient and compliant manner.
The paralegal will be responsible for engaging in a variety of tasks ranging from consistent application of established standards to those calling for judgment and independent initiative. The successful candidate will have some knowledge of industry practices and standards applicable to regulated companies in the medical device and/or pharmaceutical industry. He or she must be detail oriented and have an ability to collaborate well and work on teams. He or she must also be comfortable with the use of information technology and document management tools.
- A bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal or 1 year experience reviewing advertising and promotional materials for medical device/pharmaceutical companies.
- Prior experience in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry is desired.
- This position requires strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively work with other departments within the Company such as Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, Research and Development and Health Care Compliance.
- Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and Outlook is required
- Proficiency in Excel is preferred.
- The position will be based in Irvine, CA.
