The primary responsibility of the Senior Scientist is to champion new targets, provide strategic, scientific and provide technical guidance for conducting research involving mitochondrial biology.

  • PhD w/ Post-Doc experience with at least 3 years experience in biotech/pharmaceutical industry is required
  • At least 3 years experience developing in vitro assays to measure mitochondrial bioenergetics across cell types and model key aspects of disease-related cell biology is required
  • Experience investigating program-relevant pathways in novel areas of mitochondrial diseases is required 
  • Extensive knowledge of molecular and cellular mechanisms involved in mitochondrial energetics in several tissue is required  
  • Experience of techniques to determine in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo mitochondrial function is required
  • Experience originating & developing new project idea and creating impactful impact in the lab is preferred
  • Must be comfortable spending a minimum 90% of time spent in the lab
  • Experience as H2L+ project leader is preferred
  • Robust external network and publication record
  • Demonstrated knowledge for independent research and innovative thinking
  • Background in metabolism is preferred
