Janssen Global Services is currently recruiting for a Director, Forecasting Excellence, within the Global Commercial Strategy Organization (GCSO), located in Raritan, NJ. This role will be in the Global Analytics team (the “Hub”) and will support analytics excellence across GCSO.

Director, Forecasting Excellence, is a senior role responsible for driving functional excellence in strategic forecasting. The incumbent of this role will champion talent and drive best practices in forecasting, portfolio analytics, business development analytics, and strategic planning to support GCSO analytics professionals across all Janssen Therapeutic Areas (TAs).
 
The Director, Forecasting Excellence, will:
  • Transform forecasting methodologies and capabilities to help TA teams evaluate and prioritize compounds in Janssen’s R&D pipeline
  • Accelerate forecasting best practice sharing across GCSO and with Analytics professionals in Regional commercial roles
  • Lead the annual Long Range Financial Plan (LRFP) and R&D valuation update process within GCSO, act as liaison to the Regions, and identify and propose process improvements leading to efficiencies and better collaboration with Finance and other LRFP and R&D valuation partners
  • Design and execute portfolio analytics to evaluate the impact of competing commercial strategies and resource allocation scenarios on compounds in the R&D pipeline 
  • Manage global secondary data resources, including IQVIA and sources of Real World Data, and drive the ongoing development of methods and tools (including Janssen START, Janssen FORWarD, and MarketEdge) to optimize evidence-based insights
  • Manage contracted vendors that provide forecasting and analytics support across TAs, including FTE support, ad hoc analysis, and platform development and maintenance
  • Lead contract negotiations for IQVIA and other secondary data sources that GCSO relies on for forecasting and analytics support
  • Work closely with colleagues in the Global Analytics Hub to drive awareness of GCSO analytics platforms through the Global Analytics HQ portal and Hub-led workshops with the TA teams
The Director, Forecasting Excellence will have the opportunity to manage complex projects, demonstrate cutting-edge functional excellence, and work independently to prioritize multiple priorities within a matrixed team. This position reports to the Senior Director, Global Analytics.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required
  • MBA or other Master’s degree preferred
  • A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in analytics, business or new product forecasting, with a minimum of 3 years Pharmaceutical industry experience is required
  • Functional experience in applying analytics and strategic forecasting in the context of drug development or long-term strategic planning is required
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills are required
  • A demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently is required
  • The ability to partner and influence without authority with leaders at all levels globally and locally is required
  • Strong leadership and ability to operate in a Credo-based, ethical manner is required
  • This position will be located in Raritan, NJ, and will require up to 20% domestic and international travel, including substantial travel among Janssen offices in New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania
