The District Manager will be responsible for recruiting, hiring, developing and leading a team of Territory and Key Account Managers. The DM will develop strategies and implement tactics across the Customer Care Area (CCA) and within the district that enables Actelion to meet customer and business needs. The DM will assist management in designing appropriate marketing and field management tools focused on both specialty and internal medicine marketplace.

Primary responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

* Recruit, hire, train and develop the district sales team comprised of several Territory and Key Account Managers

* Lead and coach sales team to deliver successive levels of achievement in sales, customer service and professional development

* Interacts frequently with Managed Markets, Product Managers, Therapy Access Managers and Medical Science Liaisons; manage relationships across CCA team members

* Collaborate on development and implementation of local sales strategies and tactics

* Opinion leader development and management to build business

* Direct district in successful launch of new products, as needed

* Manages profit and loss, including budget, forecast and allocation of resources for the district

* Works with Business Director to develop talent for future management roles within Actelion

* Works with Business Director in developing and coordinating POA meetings

* Other duties may be assigned as needed

Qualifications

REQUIRED

o BA/BS

o 10 years of field sales experience in the pharmaceuticals industry of which five years involve specialty sales in cardiovascular, rheumatologic and/or pulmonary disease states

* PREFERRED

o Expert knowledge and experience in hospital sales

o Solid knowledge of managed markets

o Experience in dealing with issues and challenges in the specialty and PCP marketplace

o Prior management experience

o Completion of Development center essential unless candidate possess significant management experience.

o Willing to live in the assigned geography of the position
