As Associate Director – Clinical Supply Planning, you will be responsible for overseeing the performance and developing the talents of a group of Global Planners and Supply Chain Managers who are responsible for supply planning in support of the BioTherapeutics Value Stream.

 

As an SCM you are focused on developing the unconstrained end-to-end supply planning for DP and API to then negotiate constrained supply plans for clinical batches with suppliers to ensure Successful Patient Dosing.

 
You will:
  • Lead a group of Supply Chain Managers (SCM) and will be a SCM responsible for:
    • Developing optimal end-to-end supply strategies for a compound that minimizes waste while meeting the timelines and needs of the Kit supply plans
    • Creating supply plans by aggregating clinical demand across different trials as well as non-clinical demands, to ensure timely delivery, testing and release of clinical batches
    • Providing information to the Global and Site Planners to allow master and/or detailed scheduling of batches in the CSC supply network in line with study requirements and in line with critical raw material and component availability
  • Lead the Global Planner(s) responsible for:
    • Converting the unconstrained supply plan into a feasible, resource constrained Master Production Schedule. This plan will be based on the customer requirements, resource constraints, capacity modelling, stock levels and operations efficiency
    • Serving as a liaison for the external Supply network for sourcing and prioritizing of clinical batches
  • As a People Manager:
    • Hire, motivate, and provide leadership and development for direct reports
    • Facilitate the J&J 5 Conversations for all direct reports
    • Provide technical and operational leadership for direct reports 
    • Conduct resource, budget allocation and other HR management activities for the department. 
    • Take on a mentor role when appropriate for people outside the team
  • Develop excellent working relationships with the other CSC functions and PDMS stakeholders (i.e. QA, CRS, CMC)
  • Develop strong internal collaboration with Pilot plant operations, Site Planners and CSC ESI, to ensure on time delivery of clinical batches
  • Maintain internal collaborations and relationships with internal and external supply network to ensure on-time supply
  • Represent the SCM function on global strategic initiatives
  • Develop and implement department and functional strategy
  • Ensure portfolio timelines and business performance goals, objectives and metrics are achieved by team
  • Ensure supply chain planning activities are consistent with GMP guidelines and all compliance requirements are met
  • Support and/or lead projects on improving business processes
  • Serve as management lead for critical operational issues
  • Serve as management lead in audits and inspections


Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or technical sciences is required.  An advanced degree is preferred
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of successful experience in supply chain (e.g. demand management, supply planning & scheduling, S&OP, inventory management), demonstrating strong operational, planning and data analysis skills is required
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team in a complex, matrixed, global supply chain is required
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with internal, external partners and key stakeholders is required
  • Demonstrated ability to apply strategic thinking to function/org long term objectives is required
  • In depth knowledge of planning ERP systems (i.e. SAP, OMP, etc.) is required
  • Strong knowledge of GxP principles is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Six Sigma and FPX methodologies is preferred
  • Advanced Office software skills (i.e. MS Excel) is preferred  
  • A certification in APICS is preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time domestically and/or internationally is required
