This person will lead the Strategic Projects Organization responsible for providing project leadership to all pipeline programs from concept generation through launch utilizing our 5-Stage GNPP Innovation Process (i.e. from opportunity assessment through global launch).
This person will also be part of Research Council which develops all product concepts to a readiness level before entering GNPP.
In addition, this person will partner with R&D and Global Marketing to act as process owners for all franchise Innovation processes. Specific to these accountabilities, the role will help lead the platform teams to a common strategy ensuring portfolio growth to the desired P&L needs of the business.
This person is responsible for ensuring multifunctional inputs are obtained for strategies, tactics, budgets, and plans while generating plans to, identify gaps, assess and mitigate project risks, and manage potential conflicts.
This person will also provide direct leadership to a team of Project Managers to ensure all aspects of the innovation plans are being met and the latest project management best practices are being used.
Lead all business Innovation forums to ensure platform and program leadership through all stages of incremental, substantial and transformational innovation.
Continually improves the Innovation processes to support growth and innovation targets.
Directs all activities of the Strategic Projects Organization to ensure new product launches result in successful execution utilizing project management best practices.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
- Bachelor’s Degree – Required (technical degree preferred).
A minimum of 10 years of business experience preferably in a health care industry with at least 4 years of cumulative experience in one or more of the following functions (product development, new product management, marketing, supply chain).
Experience in product innovation is required.
Demonstrated ability to build consensus, to lead teams through influence rather than authority, and build collaborative relationships.
Demonstrated superior matrix management, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
Master’s Degree - MBA preferred
A minimum of 5 years of Project management experience preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in successfully leading multi-functional teams in a dynamic environment preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of people management experience preferred.
