Johnson and Johnson is currently hiring for a Brand Manager, Global Pain. The Brand Manager position is a key strategic role within the Global Franchise Organization (GFO). This position reports into the Director for Global Pain and will be based in New Brunswick, NJ, with travel to Fort Washington, PA and the ability to work remote at times.

 

This role is responsible for leading innovation development and new product deployment tied to the Global Pain strategy and will be a critical link to inform the global brand strategic plan development.  In addition to more traditional pain relief products, this role will provide leadership in developing digital-based devices and services.

 

Specifically, the Brand Manager will:

  • Participate in relevant global, regional and local market governance and project meetings w/ deep understanding & alignment to region strategies, tactics & KPIs. Have close partnership with Commercial Leaders. Gain local insight / market intimacy with focus on markets representing high volume
  • Responsible for shaping and developing key areas of the innovation pipeline and communications road map for the pain need state business to ensure a holistic strategy that is informed by, and informs, the global brand strategy
  • Represent & reinforce global vision & strategy for global equities across regions (examples include brands like TYLENOL® and MOTRIN®). Represent and inform global team of local market and regional nuances, needs & competitive environment focused on need-states within responsibility
  • Lead the global team with the Director to implement new product innovation
    • Partner w/ global and regional R&D / supply chain / PMO to implement global and regional initiatives
    • Lead project team in product innovation (respecting regional regulations and supply chain requirements)
    • Lead development of global innovation packaging graphics, aligning with region/markets 
    • Progress key projects that deliver new form of innovation (data, digital-based services, etc.) at the forefront of consumer pain treatment
  • In partnership with the Director, he/she will lead the development and implementation of the growth model for the pain portfolio.
  • Develop transferable success models across countries, transferring learnings and best practices globally in partnership with the Global Franchise Leadership Team

Qualifications
  • BA/BS in Marketing or a related business field is required. An MBA is strongly preferred
  • Strong interest in developing technology-based products and services preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years of progressive consumer marketing experience or its equivalent (e.g. agency experience, shopper marketing, customer/trade marketing) is required, with a strong track record of business results and organizational leadership
  • Consumer Packaged Goods and OTC marketing experience is preferred
  • A demonstrated record of marketing success including integrated communications/advertising delivery, business plan development, and/or classical marketing training is required
  • Prior experience working with market research and advertising agencies, and agency management is required
  • Prior experience working with Legal, Regulatory and Medical partners is required; prior experience working with Global partners is strongly preferred
  • Strong creative and conceptual thinking ability to set a vision, identify new opportunities, develop new ways of working, pinpoint solutions to complex problems and overcome obstacles is required
  • Strong consumer insights development and exceptional analytical ability, able to identify meaningful information and translate one's analyses into simple, compelling fact-based stories is required
  • Strong sense of urgency, comfort with ambiguity and ability to manage complexity is required
  • Strong collaboration skills are required
  • Execution focused / able to make things happen in a matrixed environment
  • Project management capabilities – ability to manage complex project workstreams across multiple dimensions is required.
  • Position may require up to 20% travel
