The department develops laboratory assays to measure PK, anti-drug antibody (ADA) and neutralizing antibody (NAb) responses in biological matrices, and the in vivo interaction of biopharmaceutical drugs with their protein targets, both on cell surfaces (receptor occupancy, RO) and in soluble forms (soluble target engagement, sTE). These assays are used to perform bioanalysis on non-clinical and clinical studies that enable drug candidate selection, human dosage recommendation, and support PK, immunogenicity, safety and efficacy analyses in clinical trials.

This position will be in the Pharmacokinetics (PK) and Pharmacodynamics (PD) Assay Development group within the Biologics Development Sciences of the Janssen BioTherapeutics at Janssen R&D.  The PK/PD Assay group develops and validates assays to measure biopharmaceutical products in matrices from non-clinical and clinical studies.  The primary responsibility for this position will be to optimize current methods by investigating several conditions in a MesoScale assay over a wide course of therapeutics with the goal of providing the group with tools to improve method sensitivity and robustness.  Additional responsibilities may include supporting reagent screening activities for Clinical PK assays as well as using Octet system to predict the outcome of best reagents from a panel of ADAs against a therapeutic.
