Janssen Research & Development, L.L.C. develops treatments that improve the health and lifestyles of people worldwide. Research and development areas include novel therapeutics in neurologic disorders, gastroenterology, oncology, infectious disease, diabetes, hematology, metabolic disorders, immunologic disorders, and reproductive medicine. Responsibilities include:
The Associate Scientist will be a part of the US East Coast Bioanalytical and Pharmacokinetics Group within the Global DMPK. This individual will be primarily responsible for developing, qualifying, and implementing LC-MS/MS assays in support of Discovery and Nonclinical (non-GLP) studies. This position will also involve trouble-shooting of assays to ensure the methods developed are robust and selective for the quantification of analyses of interest. In this position the individual will plan, execute, and analyze both in vitro and in vivo studies to evaluate the efficacy of potential drug candidates in early drug development. The individual will prepare technical reports that record data or results, review all data for accuracy including internal quality checks. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring bioanalytical deliverables on projects being supported are made in a timely fashion. This position requires working effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s in Science or related degree is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of academic and/or bio-analytical industry experience is required.
  • Practical experience with common laboratory automation/robotics systems would also be preferred.
  • Hands-on LC-MS/MS experience in analytical/bioanalytical methods development, assay troubleshooting, and sample analysis is required.
  • Awareness of new technologies and publications and/or presentations using these techniques is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Phoenix software is preferred.
  • Good documentation and excellent communication skills are required
  • Ability to be a team player with customer focus, flexibility, and a strong goal to deliver is required.
