The Engineer will:
•Lead, define and execute optical tooling design activities to deliver mold insert designs to produce lens that meet design specifications.
•Collaborates with the Lens Designer to understand Lens Design intent and translates into Plastic and Inserts designs within ISAAC.
•Translates Insert designs from Pilot Line IMM Platform/Technology design to Targeted Commercial IMM Platform/Technology in support of NPI. (GNPP 1 through GNPP 4)
•Will Define, implement and execute strategies for optical tooling calibration approaches to understand and minimize sources of variation to best estimate true mean for parameters. Delivers the Tooling Calibration Report in support of OQ/PQ activities.
•Works independently to lead development, roll-out, and establishment of new plastic and insert designs. Coordinates project activities through the use of established project timelines with milestones.
•Accountable to ensure successful and timely delivery of tooling targeted to deliver against correct lens design specifications. Responsible for developing project plans, timelines and resource requirements.
•Leads multi-functional teams to achieve project goals. Collaborates with all necessary organizations (lens design, tooling, metrology, Injection Molding, Quality Engineering, Operations, and Process Engineering) to provide for necessary design, resource support and delivery against goals.
•Bachelor's degree in a Technical discipline, such as Engineering, Physics, Chemistry is required.
•Minimum of 3 years of project experience is required.
•Confirmed leadership skills including motivating, negotiating and providing direction in a cross-functional team environment (demonstrated track record as a sub-team project leader or project leader) is preferred.
•Consistent record of having successfully completed projects is required.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills is required
•Ability to grasp technical skills quickly is required.
•Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and to facilitate and resolve multi-functional/matrix environment and issues is required.
•1+ years’ experience with 2D & 3D Mechanical Design (incl. tolerancing) preferred.
•Preferred proficiency in 3D CAD Software (e.g. Solidworks, Pro-E, Unigraphics, AutoCAD)
•This position is located Jacksonville, FL and may require up to 10% travel both domestic and international.
