The Business Improvement Specialist will support the Fort Washington Site Portfolio Management Office and Process Excellence programs. 

You will:
  • Support the site project portfolio
  • Lead resource model to support the project portfolio
  • Lead and report on assigned metrics and associated performance drivers
  • Use data as part of a comprehensive approach to process improvement
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to ensures integrity and accuracy data for all site projects
  • Provide input for business planning
  • Provide Project Management Services for capital projects when necessary
  • Facilitate site project review meetings to ensure projects are on schedule
  • Ensure quality and compliance
  • Be responsible for Project Portfolio Management:
    • Support of the site project portfolio through the site PMO
    • Ensure integrity and accuracy of the data quality for projects
    • Support in the management of the Cost Improvement Project Portfolio
    • Support business planning cycle by ensuring alignment to new targets and supporting portfolio
    • adhere to BP targets, and ensure accuracy in Global reporting
  • Facilitate Process Excellence (PE) activities and other Continuous Improvement projects and initiatives
    • Support site certification program with Supply Chain Academy
    • Support Operations in Kaizen and 5S initiatives
    • Ensure PE Projects are maintained accurately and in a timely fashion
    • Collect and report out metrics of PE activities at an understandable and actionable level
    • Liaise with the Cross Functional Operations and QA Management to identify and share best practices
  • Oversee Innovation:
    • Interpret site strategy and actively seek innovative solutions supporting implementation 
    • Support internal innovation processes to capture new ideas
    • Support full end to end accountability for effective and cost-efficient delivery of all Supply Chain elements and collaborates with Operations, Quality & cross-functional partners
  • Oversee Site Metrics and Projects Governance: 
    • Manage monthly site metrics roll-up and reporting to regional PMO and leadership
    • Lead internal plant dashboard reporting on a monthly and weekly basis 
    • Facilitates project governance meetings at the department and site level to enable delivery of CIP and financial commitments
    • Supports data quality adherence in project management systems
  • Understand Systems and Product Knowledge
    • Maintain a working knowledge in the applicable systems
    • Utilize tools within MS office, MS Project and other systems to improve business effectiveness
    • Maintain a working knowledge of the products produced in the plant and the overall production processes, quality processes and technology transfer processes
    • Support Business Improvement Programs or element
  • Lead cross functional project teams, in a matrixed environment, to efficiently and effectively execute Capital and Continuous Improvement Projects
  • Influence others at all levels of the organization 

Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Business, Mathematics/Statistics or Engineering is Required.  An Advanced Degree is preferred
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in a pharmaceutical, consumer, chemical and/or medical device manufacturing operations is required
  • Knowledge of cGMPs is required
  • Previous experience in leading projects and/or work teams is required
  • Experience in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and Power Point is required
  • Business metrics and data analysis, experience with data analytics tools such as Microsoft Excel (i.e. V-lookups, pivot table) is required
  • Ability to oversee or manage multiple projects at once is required
  • Experience in Project Portfolio Management applications such as Instantis is preferred
  • Experience with Business Improvement/Process Excellence Methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma,) is preferred
  • Experience with analytics software such as Minitab or Tableau or like platform is preferred
  • Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate data accurately is preferred
  • Ability to perform cost/benefit analysis for business case development is preferred
  • Ability to train for moderately to highly complex concepts to all levels of the organization is preferred 
  • Ability to travel up to 5% domestically may be required
