Reporting to the Senior Director, CLS Process & Systems, the Director will support the development and execution of the Warehouse Management Systems strategy. You will ensure its alignment with the J&J enterprise’s systems / technology needs and business strategy, and the delivery of current and future capabilities required to achieve business goals in partnership with global, regional, and external stakeholders. You will be responsible to articulate a clear path on how to develop a WMS platform for CLS which will help drive the next generation of e-commerce and Integrate innovation into future solutions and design opportunities to create strategic advantage. You will evaluate current state WMS technology solutions across the global CLS distribution network, update WMS standard as needed, and develop multi-year enterprise WMS strategies, priorities and objectives. This includes CLS Distribution Operations across all 3 J&J segments (Consumer, Medical Device, Pharmaceuticals) and both J&J and 3PL operated Distribution Centers. In addition, you will support the E2E deployment & implementation of the Johnson & Johnson Operating System (JJOS) & Warehouse Management Systems Improvement Process, and CLS related opportunities, to be aligned with three segment priorities including execution of the diagnostic, creation of the implementation plan, and the execution of the transformation projects.

  • Foster a business-oriented, service culture and mindset driven by continual service improvement techniques
  • Align with CLS Distribution & IT business to set vision and strategy for WMS technical capabilities and components
  • Lead the assessment of WMS external and internal infrastructure capabilities required to achieve desired business goals
  • Lead the development of the infrastructure aspects of the WMS strategy and roadmap, and ensure its integration with the broader technology and enterprise strategic plans
  • Partner with IT’s Enterprise Architecture function to identify solution approaches, and assess, evaluate and provide recommendations for new technologies and strategic approaches
  • Collaborate with the CLS Distribution and IT leadership regarding WMS to ensure alignment on technology strategy, standards and implementation, and in conjunction with leadership manage the overall project portfolio and prioritization for the distribution processes and systems
  • Actively participate in long-range WMS strategy and policy development to address complex business issues; provide leadership to cross-functional teams
  • Oversee periodic review and refresh of strategic priorities and their translation into actionable and quantitative plans
  • Play project management role for key WMS implementations and process redesigns and/or collaborate closely with local implementation teams to ensure the appropriate resourcing, support, and capabilities are in place to be successful
  • Monitor execution of the WMS strategic plan
  • Identify opportunities for using technology as an enabler to improve, automate, and simplify business processes for CLS and its customers to increase efficiency and profitability while reducing costs
  • Participate in the JJOS & WMS governance process
  • Partner with CLS Leadership Teams in each region to ensure JJOS & WMS is serving business goals and objectives
  • Execute JJOS model in Deliver sites: Preparation, Onboarding, Diagnostic, Design, Plan & Implement on WW basis
  • Ensure that the benefits identified are aligned through J&J Cross sectors Enterprise & site leadership and incorporated as necessary into site business plans & goals/objectives
  • Own transition of the implementation plan to the local site team and ongoing coaching & support;
  • Ensure that strong & sustained JJOS & WMS capability is built into the sites through training of the site leadership & deployment teams in the JJOS methodology – which the deployment lead owns
  • Conduct training, coaching and mentoring for the JJOS Deliver site lead, core team, distribution team, and change agents in the JJOS methodology
  • Pull forwards from other sites, and other regional deployment leads
  • Accountable for identification of site & systems processes and best practices and working with the JJOS Content Leads to document and incorporate them as necessary in the JJOS playbook
  • Maintain JJOS Deliver Playbook and align with JJPS content leads for training curricula
  • Ensure the site executes the transformation projects & delivers the targeted benefits in line with the implementation plan based on the diagnostic
  • Review of the site dashboard, ensuring that the site operating metrics reflect the targeted improvements and if not, intervene as appropriate (resources, training, coaching, etc.)
  • Responsible for the escalation of any issues identified by the site or through the System check process through both the CLS organization & JJOS COE
  • Regional Deliver JJOS teams owning content and supporting deployments
  • Participate in Loaner Kit improvement initiative and develop new Business Process (if applicable)
  • Develop Loaner Kit Diagnostic Ghost Deck, Value Driver lever tree etc. (if applicable)

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum 10 years of related experience required
  • Requires experience in Supply Chain (Plan, Source, Make, Deliver)
  • Requires strong knowledge of ERP, Information Systems, and/or WMS
  • Requires people management/leadership (direct or indirect reports) experience
  • Experience in Distribution, Manufacturing, or Quality is preferred
  • Experience required with Continuous improvement and Process Excellence / Lean / Six Sigma
  • Requires project management experience; PM certification (e.g., PMP/FPX) preferred
  • Proficiency in end-to-end supply chain processes is preferred
  • Healthcare industry experience is helpful
  • Role is located in Skillman, NJ, with considerations being made for other J&J New Jersey sites
  • Requires up to 50% international and domestic travel
