The Digital Platform Center of Excellence is a new Johnson & Johnson Medical Devices initiative intended to build the digital platform portfolio for the Medical Devices Sector.

The Digital Product Manager will be responsible for product strategy, design and development of a digital solution which will provide a consistent and delightful experience for healthcare professionals, patients, other customers and stakeholders, allowing access to services, tools, and information curated specifically based on user needs. The goal of these digital solutions would be to improve patient experience and outcomes and/or improve efficiency across the patient continuum of care and lower cost.


In this role you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Work in partnership with key stakeholders from J&J Medical Device operating companies and functions, as well as Information Technology, to assure that the solution fulfills the vision as defined.
  • Responsible for executing and understanding internal / external research as well as developing business requirements from key internal stakeholders.
  • Translate this information into detailed product requirements for new product development and negotiate feature content with various organizations, including engineering team, platforms (such as R&D, Marketing, MD), and external stakeholders.
  • Responsible for interacting with a multi-disciplinary matrixed project team using the agile/scrum methodology.
  • Fulfills the product owner role within the scrum team, being responsible for the product backlog, writing user stories and acceptance criteria, with autonomy to prioritize issues based on perceived user value, metrics and release planning.
  • Leads backlog grooming, sprint planning and product demo sessions, inviting appropriate partners as needed. Sets, communicates and keeps team focused on sprint goals.
  • Responsible for detailed roadmap and release planning, with support and collaboration of partners across different functions. 

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • A minimum of 8 years of working experience is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Digital, Medical devices, or Healthcare is required.
  • Experience in defining and delivering successful products in the digital space is required.
  • Understanding of patient care, patient flow, and surgeon/hospital needs is desired.
  • Understanding of orthopedic or bariatric disease states is desired.
  • Understanding of data analytics, modeling, and algorithms is desired.
  • Experience working in a hospital system on patient care improvement initiatives as well as experience in training, coaching and outcomes monitoring is desired.
  • Understanding of UX best practices and ability to guide visual design direction is required.
  • Agile/Lean Development knowledge, training or experience is required.
  • Experience with creating clear, detailed, concise user stories, acceptance criteria and artifacts to convey concepts and ideas to the cross functional agile team is required.
  • Experience identifying and validating the value of product backlog ideas is required.
  • Experience creating release plans and roadmaps to convey delivery plan is required.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with experience in bringing together cross functional teams is required.
  • Ability to influence partners with diverse points of view and build consensus.
  • Experience in the area of measuring impacts of digital assets is preferred.
  • Big picture mindset with the ability to zoom in and out of details; can balance both technical and strategic demands is required.
  • Position will be located in Raynham, MA. Candidates located remotely in commutable distance to a J&J facility may also be considered.
  • This position may require up to 30% travel, domestic/international. If located remotely, additional travel on top of regular expected travel for position will be required.
