The Global Head is an influential leader with a strong understanding of the drug research & development process, strong therapeutic area or functional area knowledge, experience in Scientific and Regulatory activities, and has a well-established track record for collaborative scientific and organizational leadership.
Oversees statistical planning, strategic input, and delivery for respective therapeutic or functional area of responsibility. Serves as single point of contact for Statistical Sciences to therapeutic or functional areas and participates in therapeutic or functional area strategy and decision-making forums.

 

The successful candidate will be  responsible for overall statistical strategy for (Pre/Early/Late) Development, Research & Discovery, Medical Affairs, Real World Evidence, or Manufacturing Sciences programs. Ensures scientific integrity of programs and is responsible and accountable for the alignment of statistical design & analysis with objectives within the respective area. Contributes to building an integrated Quantitative Sciences (QS)  group by partnering with the experts from other QS functions. Participates in the development and execution of organizational strategies; oversees development of departmental policies, training, and standards.

 
This position is responsible for recruiting, resource planning, and talent management. Is responsible for the development of all employees within its own organization, including leadership development and training to meet current and future business needs. He/She will provide expert scientific and statistical leadership and demonstrated skills in facilitating and optimizing commercialization of key marketed compounds. Strong track record for global scientific leadership in support of the Medical Affairs life cycle management activities including fulfillment of post marketing requirements and/or commitments for health authorities, expansion of labeling into new indications and development and evaluation of modern program/trial design methodologies with focus on real world evidence gathering, analysis and interpretation.  

This person will have additional responsibility for managing teams of approximately 5 direct J&J internal reports with an overall staff of approximately 20 (or supervision of equivalent internal and external resources per portfolio demands and sourcing strategies).

Qualifications
The successful candidate with have a Ph.D. in statistics and minimum of twelve years of practical experience. They also will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in leading statistical aspects in clinical or research and discovery direct reports.
Additionally the will be proficient in SAS and R programming and will have a working knowledge of regulatory guidance document and demonstrated leadership and desicion making skills.
