The candidate for this position will join the manufacturing operations team responsible for production of autologous CAR-T products for Phase 1/2a clinical trials. The primary responsibilities for this role are:
- Perform process unit operations according to standard operating procedures and batch records.
- Participate in tech transfer of the process from the development lab to cGMP facility, qualification, and validation of the facility and equipment.
- Draft standard operating procedures and batch records.
- Work with Process Development team and Quality organization to successfully transfer process to cGMP facility to manufacture products.
- Perform tasks in a manner consistent with the safety policies, quality systems and cGMP requirement.
- Other duties will be assigned, as necessary. Occasional weekend work is required.
BS Degree in Biological Sciences or Biochemistry and approximately 0-2 years of relevant laboratory experience OR an Associate Degree with at least 2 years for relevant work experience OR high school diploma with at least 4 years of relevant experience is required
Experience in the following areas is preferred:
Aseptic processing in ISO 5 clean room and biosafety cabinets
Cell expansion using single-use vessels and cell washing processes using automated equipment
Knowledge of cGMP regulations and FDA guidance related to manufacturing of cell based products
Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and must be able to stand for a long period of time
Ability to pay attention to details and follow the procedures
Ability to handle human derived materials in BSL-2 containment areas
The candidate must be highly organized and capable of working in a team environment with a positive attitude under some supervision.
Good written and verbal communication skills are required.
The successful candidate must maintain written records of work in the form of notebooks, technical reports and protocols.
Ability to summarize and present results, and experience with team-based collaborations is a must.
This role requires occasional weekend work.
