The Fall Co-op Program at Johnson & Johnson is a comprehensive learning and professional experience in the technology space at one of the world’s leading health care companies. Our co-op positions are usually for 6 months of full-time work between June and December.


The Healthcare Technology Center is an innovative facility located in downtown Providence, Rhode Island focused on testing and building emerging digital technology in an Agile environment. Software development, user interface, analytics, and mobile application development teams work together on a wide variety of projects in a collaborative environment.

Position Components

As a Digital Design Co-Op, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with various aspects of Johnson & Johnson’s business and technology - focusing in areas such as information architecture, animation design, visual design, digital illustration and 3D modeling.  


Each co-op could expect to be responsible for the following roles and responsibilities:

  • You will contribute individually and as a team member as part of design team

  • You will work towards goals and objectives developed in partnership with an experienced digital designer

  • You will work within a group (in IT) that supports all functional areas of the business

Successful co-ops are required to:

  • Have permanent work authorization in USA. We cannot consider students requiring future

  • sponsorship.
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, which is reflective of all college coursework.

  • Be currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelors degree. Preferred fields are Design, User Experience, Human-Computer Interaction, or other related fields.     

  • Students in their Sophomore year and higher are strongly preferred.

  • Prior experience and good working knowledge in one or more of the skills is required: Information Architecture, User Experience Design, User Interface Design, Animation Design, Interaction Design, Visual Design, Graphic Design, Digital Illustration, and/or 3D Modeling

  • Prior experience and good working knowledge in one or more of the tools is required: Pencil + Paper, Sketch, Zeplin, Abstract, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Aftereffects, Adobe Premier, Adobe InDesign, and/or Rhino 3D, Blender, or other 3D Modeling Software
