Johnson & Johnson Surgical Vision (JJSV) is recruiting for an Senior Software Engineer III. JJSV designs, manufactures, and distributes products for the surgical treatment of anterior segment ophthalmic disorders, most notably cataract removal. JJSV is headquartered in Santa Ana, California.

Senior Software Engineer supports the development of surgical systems, websites and apps within the regulated medical environment.  This position will work with teams or individually based on project complexity.  Needs to be able to work with cross functional groups to gather and document requirements to develop software.  Needs to have a high sense of urgency and a self-starter that can contribute to the team.

Key Responsibilities

Knowledge of best practices for software development and documentation within the medical device realm.

Work cross functionally to develop software.

Ability to work as an individual or a team member to develop software.

Create code in multiple software languages.

Document code to meet regulatory requirements.

Create unit test for software.



A minimum of Bachelor’s Science degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or computer engineer is required.

A minimum 8 years of software development within a regulated environment is required.

Proven proficiency in Qt specifically in QML is required.

Functional proficiency in C++ and C is required.

Demonstrated experience with Java languages is preferred.

Functional proficiency in developing software for android devices is preferred.

Functional proficiency in developing software for iOS devices is preferred.

Functional proficiency in developing software for websites is preferred.

This position requires up to 10% of travel, domestic and international.

This position will be in Santa Ana, CA.
