This role is responsible for supporting the efforts of the Johnson and Johnson Vision Surgical Global Commercial Organizations by improving the understanding of all Eye Care Professionals and corporate practice consolidators including C-Suite contacts from Private Equity firms of the company's objectives and achievements.  Works in conjunction with the commercial Sales, Marketing and Education teams to provide promotion, education and support in this niche arena of the JJVS brands to consolidated MD & OD Practices.
Primary responsibilities for the - J&J Vision Surgical include the following:
  • Targets, leads and facilitates relationships with all C-Suite (CEO/CFO/COO) representatives from the population of Private Equity Firms both domestic and global when looking to purchase OD/MD systems.
  •  In concert with the Global Commercial Teams, leads efforts of reaching sales and targeting objectives with the Private Equity clients.
  • Develops and manages relationships with Corporate Consolidators to educate and promote the Johnson and Johnson Vision surgical brands.
  • Guides Americas Corporate Accounts team, negotiates and develops sales contracts that meets the needs of the individual consolidated accounts and directs sales teams in execution of said contracts.
  • Partners with the World Wide President to lead Global commercial organizations through early engagement with key customers considering practice consolidation to ensure continued utilization and expansion of J&J vision products.
  • Single point of contact for leading and guiding Global Commercial Teams in designing  curriculum, tools, and formats to drive education and understanding of the changing landscape tied to ECP consolidation.
  • Acts as the critical lead in attendance, participation and presentation of Johnson and Johnson Vision Surgical communication to key congresses and professional gatherings (lectures, conferences, dinner programs, etc.)
  • Key opinion leader for the Sales team in professional development activities around
    consultative sales strategies that provides a better understanding of practice economics and practice growth initiatives tied to JJVS products
  • Leads commercial marketing team (indirect supervision), in the development of practice and ASC based growth initiatives tied to JJVS surgical products
  • Key leadership role in developing and delivering training materials to the Global Commercial sales teams and commercial organizations around the world in the Private Equity space.
  • Leads a team of three globally to influence and partner with Private Equity firms on their post-acquisition solutions for the suite of eye care solutions.

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required, an MBA or advanced degree is preferred
  • Minimum of twelve (12) years professional experience working in a Practice/Business/Marketing/Eye Care related field to include staff and management responsibilities with in-depth exposure to Vision Surgical KOLs globally is required
  • Extensive experience in acquisitions, growth initiatives, and operations of Corporate owned practices and ASCs is required
  • Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, and practices of sales, marketing, and professional relations as it related to the practice of optometry and ophthalmology is required
  • Complete understanding of the co-management or “participative care” between Ophthalmologists and Optometrists in the US Market.  Including direct experience in developing and managing referral “networks' is required
  • The position requires approximately up to 75% domestic and international travel
