  • Drive the evolution of total cost of ownership across the Consumer/CMD application landscape as a key enabler to reduce complexity and cost across the Consumer application portfolio, while improving capabilities and flexibility for R&D functions.
  • Drive the identification of opportunities for application rationalization to simplify the Consumer/CMD global application portfolio with our BUIT partners while evolving a planned strategy execution.
  • Connect with application owners to educate them on the benefits of the virtualized infrastructure, both our virtual private cloud and our On-Premise cloud.
  • Understand and model Consumer/CMD R&D technologies and their use in the development of new products. Chemical and material compositions that are used to develop new products. Regulatory bodies, information, data sources to ensure new product development compliance to country authorities.
  • Understand Laboratory technologies and laboratory software that aid in product development. Investigate new and innovative technologies that can accelerate or improve Consumer/CMD product development.
  • Innovation and Idea management technologies to help manage portfolio of ideas, prioritize critical investments and explore new business models for Consumer/CMD and their associated architectures.
  • Drive the adoption of platform centric cloud native application development. Architect hybrid cloud native development environments, have relevant knowledge of cloud native app development, technologies and stack variations with containerization knowledge relevant to legacy application transformation.
  • Understanding of cross functional system design and application integration for the Consumer/CMD sectors.
  • Align the total cost of ownership findings and our annual business planning and portfolio management processes to ensure lifecycle management is incorporated into multi-year investment plans.
  • Creation of multi-year roadmaps globally for our application portfolio.
  • Participate in enterprise initiatives for Consumer/CMD by driving the following:
    • Creation of the current state application footprint, including application rationalization status
    • Target to-be state for future end-state application (s) of Consumers Global application portfolio
    • Perform gap analysis and implementation plan from the current to future states
  • Pilot and exploit emerging technologies (e.g., cloud computing, mobile, scientific data analytics, computational challenges and genomic data analytics) to add business value while reducing ongoing operating costs.
  • Partnering with the ITS and GOC Architects to influence enterprise technology strategies and identify leveraging opportunities across businesses.

  • A minimum of 8 years of IT financial/project management experience with a proven track record of success operating in a complex, ambiguous, fast paced environment.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in IT infrastructure and/or application functions.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience leading global programs and managing globally dispersed teams (staff and/or contractors).
  • BA/BS degree or a minimum of 8 years of equivalent business experience is required.
  • Ability to manage a large volume of multi-faceted activities in a quality manner.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with various levels both internal and external to the IT organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and articulate business requirements, direction, and initiatives, including ability to balance requirements from an enterprise, sector and franchise/region level.
  • Demonstrated understanding and management of financial processes and results related to projects, departmental budgets, and enterprise.
  • Excellent Oral and Written communication skills required.
  • Served as the thought leader for the business unit and be seen as a peer and partner by the business unit.
  • Demonstrated ability for rapid understanding of business strategies, and their implications for IT strategy.
  • Experience and knowledge with industry specific development Stacks, GxP validation, cloud architecture, hosting models, practical use of containerization and examples of business value provided through the creative combination of these techniques.
  • Experience in one Architecture Frameworks preferred, e.g. (TOGAF, Zachman, DoDAF, etc).
  • Experience with the following technologies, Cloud, Virtualization, Mobility preferred.
  • Experience and practice in architecture required.
