This internship is intended for MSc or PhD candidates working towards a graduate degree in Biostatistics or a related university major, who have a very strong background in statistics and are seeking to apply their skills to clinical, biological or real-world data in the Canadian pharmaceutical industry.
 
The MPRM group works closely with Regulatory Affairs and Drug Safety & Surveillance to prepare Health Canada compliant drug product Risk Management Plans (RMPs) and to contributes to the development of risk mitigation activities under RMP commitments.  Meeting these commitments involves analysis of various types of data, including data from clinical studies or real-world sources, such as claims data, public health databases and survey results.
 
The intern will serve as an integral member of a project team, providing advice, conducting statistical analyses and summarizing and presenting data to support team objectives
 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Generate and validate statistical analyses (tables, listings, and figures) using the R programming language/software and other data management software
  • Review statistical deliverables and ensure the quality of the output

Qualifications
Relevant knowledge and experience
  • Minimum requirement is a bachelor’s degree in Statistics or a related field; individual must be actively pursuing graduate studies; MSc in a statistics or a life sciences related field is considered an asset
  • Formal education or demonstrated knowledge of biological, life sciences or health care
