This position is responsible for managing trade activities and drive distribution operation strategy at Janssen. This person is a subject matter expert at an operational and tactical level. This position will also serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external dealings pertaining to our direct trade partners and supply chain operations. The main purpose of this role is to develop, maintain and oversee good working relationships with wholesalers, other industry partners and internal cross functional partners. This position will play an important role in the creation and execution of the wholesale distribution strategy allowing the delivery of strong business results, with high corporate compliance, against Janssen commercial objectives.
Trade Account Management - Leads and manages the operational business relationship with Direct Trade Partners executing monthly meetings, facilitating quarterly business reviews; publishing performance metrics, areas of focus, and joint action plans. Report Direct Trade Partner adherence to Distribution Services Agreements (inventory plan execution, service fees, distribution service value, trade data and market share). Hold Trade Partners accountable for performance. Ensure data integrity and adequate data flows between Trade Partners and Janssen. Leverages Trade Partner relationships and knowledge to analyze & interpret trade data, identifying actionable insights to develop/create innovative business opportunities, driving value back to Janssen.
Janssen Business Unit Partnerships – Interacts and collaborates with internal business partners across functions (co-lead S&OP’s providing market inventory position and wholesaler shipments to pharmacies), creating a partnership environment around delivering shared defined business objectives to influence and maximize financial outcomes for Janssen to enable market growth. Member of the new product launch, acquisition and divestiture teams; develop pipeline launch distribution strategies and ensure products are distributed successfully and on-time. Provide feedback on market demand, inventory and other relevant information to the launch team.
Data Analytics and Insights - Review and monitor daily Trade Sales to ensure purchases are aligned with individual Brand demand. On a monthly basis; executes the delivery of accurate, relevant and “real time” demand analytics that deliver insights that help to shape quarter end and year end approach. Publish monthly BUD decks and shipment reports, delivering key updates and insights to month over month changes. Ensure integrity of information flowing from wholesalers into the Qlik environment.
Distribution Operations - Executes Janssen supply chain processes to deliver product to Trade Partners/Pharmacies/Patients, in full and on time; ensuring standardized workflows. Leverage Trade Partner data to monitor, measure, validate and analyze rebates, distribution fees, provincial pricing adjustments, inventory levels and sales. Understand and identify variances, escalate to management when necessary; collaborate with partners to resolve discrepancies and maintain process efficiencies. Part of a cross functional team responsible for executing efficient and precise delivery of corporate ME/YE commitments. Identify and execute new innovative and disruptive solutions to a variety of complex problems in an evolving market (returns, contracts, cross border trade, etc..).
University degree in engineering or business (MBA is a strong asset)
Minimum of 1 year of diverse healthcare-related supply chain experience and /or commercial experience
- Results and performance driven, who demonstrates personal ownership and accountability for delivering business results and disruptive innovation
- Strong analytical skills, generating easy to interpret reports. Use statistical methods to identify areas for operational improvements and suggested market insights to Business Units.
- Working knowledge of Supply Chain and Customer Account Relationship Management
Strong communication skills, ability to influence change with diverse audiences at multiple levels
Strong project management skills
Demonstrate ability to self-direct, act with sense of urgency and agility
Strong attention to detail
