The Senior Azure Developer role sits within Johnson & Johnson’s R&D Product Technology Innovation group whose mission is to reach more patients and restore more lives. We are looking for a talented Azure Developer to lead the creation of our Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) cloud; leveraging their extensive experience using Azure building blocks and tools. •Partner with J&J Digital Surgery solution architects, Azure infrastructure team, system administrators to design and build a highly scalable and performant cloud IoT solutions.
•Develop the technical strategy for our IoT solution so that it will leverage microservices and APIs that interface with devices, the platform data layer and third-party services
•Demonstrate proficiency in developing applications and services using Azure tools and technologies, including storage, security, compute, and communications.
•Stay informed on IoT and cloud technologies, understand trends and opportunities to leverage for J&J Digital Surgery platform
•Demonstrate a strong focus on innovation, mindset to create best-in-class add-value solutions
•Research and recommend technologies and act as a domain expert and contribute to shaping J&J cloud platform IoT strategy
•Write code, deliver proof of concept for IoT solutions to advance J&J DS platform capabilities
•Collaborate with Web App (front-end) teams to develop product features and services
•Partner with R&D Medical Device Product Lines and shared services to drive the IoT development strategy, architecture, and delivery.
•Establish the device provisioning approach of medical devices dispersed across the world
•Drive the over the air (OTA) software and firmware upgrade capabilities of medical devices
•Partner with the R&D Medical Device Product Development organizations to understand their IoT needs, help prioritize investments, develop use cases, generate UML diagrams, and develop overall solution requirements including application definition, integration, security, and system configurations
•Lead teams, manage Agile SCRUM units and launch innovative solutions following software development processes
•Collect requirements from different directions, always orienting yourself to the concrete needs of the patient
•Bachelor’s Degree or Higher in Computer Science, IT, or related Engineering is required.
Experience and Skills:
•At least 7 years of practical work experience in an IT, engineering, or related technical field is required
•At least 5 years of developer experience with Microsoft Azure is required
•Certification in Microsoft Cloud Technologies required
•Expert-level knowledge across various IoT platform modules, including networking, virtualization, identity, security, business continuity, disaster recovery, and data management required
•Demonstrate a track record of delivery of IoT cloud solutions is required
•Ability to learn and master new technologies and tools in a fast-paced environment is required
•Experience with multi-cloud solutions, global deployments, cloud-based distributed application scaling, and data processing required
•Hands-on experience developing solutions with Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) on Azure platform, including but not limited to developing microservices, web services, REST APIs, and containerized solutions with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Azure Container Registry (ACR) is required
•Hands-on Azure application development with Azure Platform as a Service (PaaS) services (IoT suite, Service Bus, Event Hub, etc.) required
•Ability to rigorously adhere to and implement development best practices and coding standards required
•Expert level proficiency in programming languages and modern cloud development tools including but not limited to: Node.js, C/C++/C#, Java, Python, Azure SDKs, CLI, portal and other tools required
•Experience in DevOps and CI/CD required
•Expert knowledge of IoT Modules and Protocols including IoT Hub, IoT Edge, HTTP/TCP, AMQP, MQTT, Web Sockets, Telemetry data processing, File processing, deep knowledge of video files required
•Strong knowledge of cloud data and storage technologies, relational and NoSQL databases, Azure platform data ingress and egress processes i.e. Data flow design, Azure Cosmos DB and blob storage, SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL database systems such as Cassandra/DSE, Mongo required
•Proficient knowledge and experience with Cloud Security including but not limited to encryption, identity and access management, authentication, authorization, etc. required
•Strong Networking Knowledge including VPN, Load-balancing, and firewalls required
•This position may be located anywhere in the US with a strong preference towards Cincinnati, Ohio and Somerville, NJ
•Certification in other cloud technologies (e.g. AWS) preferred
•Experience with GxP, HIPAA, HITRUST, GDPR compliance preferred
•Understanding of Big Data and cognitive Services: Machine Learning (ML) and Data Analytics preferred
•Knowledge of HL7 and FHIR data models preferred
•Up to 25% travel, domestic and international is required
