Strategic and Conceptual
The Production Operations Lead takes initiative in working with cross-functional business partners and suppliers to produce integrated production processes and solutions. You will develop production plans while aligning teams to best practices and assist in implementing strategies that maintain brand integrity across regions and around the world.
 
 
Craft and Inspiration
From supplier’s capabilities, inks & substrates, to prepress & printing methods, the Production Operations Lead demonstrates an autonomous understanding of how to produce the many aspects of design solutions.
 
The Production Operations Lead will provide production input to creative designers from design concept through design intent release to artwork agencies and/or suppliers, informing of all aspects for design feasibility, file preparation, and printing/production requirements.

Collaborative and Rigorous
The Production Operations Lead works collaboratively with all team members and business partners, successfully forming strong working relationships. You can comfortably lead working meetings and collaborative exploration, as well as troubleshoot production challenges, mitigate and manage risk while representing all work and garner/process feedback. You have mastered the skills required for all phases of the production processes — prepress and printing operations, comping and proofing, color reproduction and management, and you will produce solutions across all media.
 
 
 
 
Professional Leadership
The Production Operations Lead handles many projects at one time, coordinating the delivery of projects and/or the execution of programs, assumes ownership of whole projects or programs, and applies collaborative leadership skills and/or leads small cross functional teams.
 
As the Production Operations Lead, you also seek to understand production industry trends and assess the potential impact of these trends on the organization.
 
 
 
Primary Responsibilities
 
  • Partner with other design disciplines to provide production input on active programs.
  • Review designs for manufacturing feasibility and communicate production concerns prior to design finalization.
  • Provide printing and manufacturing solutions to achieve desired design intents and results.
  • Provide color management solutions to manage brand colors.
  • Issue superior communications with suppliers, artwork agencies and printers.
  • Negotiate production costs with suppliers when required.
  • Assist in developing strategies to enhance current production processes.
  • Implement new production techniques and technologies as needed.
  • Provide education on production processes to cross-functional teams if required.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Communication or related field.
  • 5-7 years of prepress or printing industry experience, preferably in a Consumer Healthcare or Pharmaceutical environment.
  • Understand and have the ability to resolve complex production problems in a timely fashion in a
    fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership in a prepress, print and project management environment.
  • Ability to multi-task while working on multiple projects with conflicting deadlines.
  • Commitment to continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrate strong visual, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Strong ability to collaborate within a team environment as well as work independently.
  • Work closely and effortlessly with all levels of staff and management.
  • Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
