The Opportunity
 
Janssen Inc. is looking to hire an experienced business leader in the role of Director, Business Planning, who will play a leadership role in SHAPING and DELIVERING the Strategic Business Planning process.
 
Position Overview
 
Aligned with a key long term organizational priority of competitive differentiation through providing our customers with the Janssen Experience, the Director, Business Planning role will strengthen, streamline and deliver a consistent business planning process for the organization. This role will steward the Janssen business planning and tactical planning processes and the related standards and competencies. Through strong communication skills along with the depth of prior relevant experience this role is key to influencing senior leaders both in Commercial and Medical Affairs organization. This role will directly manage the Manager, Business Planning.
 
Specific areas of accountability will include leading the follow deliverables:
  • As the owner define and standardize the entire Brand Planning approach and cycle including the Tactical Planning approach. Lead the kick off and deployment of Business Planning each year. Identify the areas of focus each year.
  • Ownership of influencing Sales & Marketing and Medical Affairs leaders to create alignment and focus on application of the planning processes
  • Shape and design collaboration platforms within the Customer Experience Excellence (CEE) organization and all Business Units to co-create, roll-out, adapt and sustain the business planning processes.
  • Define the marketing competencies and standards against the processes
  • Direct and define Field Data Collection strategy
 This is a unique opportunity for advanced business leadership development which will challenge the individual to deliver with credibility through strong communication and influencing skills in a highly matrix environment.

Qualifications
  • University degree (science or business related) is required with an advanced degree being preferred (MBA)
  • A minimum 8 years in Pharmaceutical/HealthCare business is required
  • A minimum of 2 years in a leadership role (project management, people management, etc) is required
  • Demonstration of strong commercial acumen and business planning application required.
  • Experience in multiple therapeutic areas is preferred.
  • Demonstrated behavioral competencies including strategic and critical thinking, strong communication and influencing in a highly matrix organization
  • Demonstrated ability in leading internal collaboration of teams / stakeholders across the enterprise, leveraging broad range of cross functional skills and perspectives to create alignment
  • Demonstrated ability to challenge the status quo, and lead and adapt to change, creating positive change
  • Ability to rapidly generate rapport, to build, and to leverage relationships
  • Success leading change in ambiguity and uncertainty, with demonstrated resilience in the face of challenges
  • Advanced ability to work independently and lead initiatives; Demonstrated results and performance driven
  • English-French bilingualism is an asset
  • Willingness and ability to travel (10% travel – nationally and internationally)
