Performs a variety of engineering functions requiring a wide diversity of technical knowledge involving process improvement and supporting the introduction of new equipment and new products into manufacturing production. Ensures that manufacturing equipment meets company specifications, schedules and budgets. Takes a primary position in activities involved with sub-contractors from beginning of design process through installation and start-up processes. Serves as a resource to other engineering disciplines in facility or a portion of a given technology. Acts as advocate for continuous improvement of technology and process.
Adheres to environmental policy and procedures and supports department environmental objectives.
Identifies, plans and executes major projects involved with process improvement. (10%)
Qualifies new equipment and performs vendor and site acceptance testing to meet government standards. (15%)
Participates in troubleshooting and resolving equipment, systems, and process problems to prevent the occurrence of product nonconformity. Provides guidance to Process Engineers/Engineer Technicians in troubleshooting efforts. (20%)
Designs experimental protocols using statistical tools to resolve process response to controllable factors. (20%)
Identifies key opportunities to develop and implement equipment and/or process enhancements that will improve efficiency, product yield and safety. (20%)
Identifies key areas and provides technical training and support to Operations/R&D personnel. (10%)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Equivalent required
- A minimum of 4 years engineering experience or technical experience in manufacturing operations
- 3 years of experience working in FDA regulated environment
- Project management experience
- Statistical design and analysis of experiments
- Excellent written and oral communication skills required
- Excellent organizational skills required
