The Integrated Evidence Team Leader (IETL), Infectious Diseases leads a matrixed, cross functional team that has responsibility to understand the US healthcare environment and the various stakeholders relevant to the ID therapeutic area (HIV, Respiratory Infections, with later on an expansion to other ID Diseases States), identify gaps in the evidence and knowledge needed to support the franchise’s stakeholder-focused value propositions, prioritize and integrate evidence generation activities from across research groups (e.g., Medical Affairs, RWE, epidemiology), and maintain a current, strategically aligned integrated evidence generation plan. The IETL will also create a strategically aligned scientific communication plan and work with appropriate cross-functional partners to maintain an integrated communication plan. In addition, the IETL will lead the US KOL engagement plan for the ID Franchise, in collaboration with our US commercial partners, and participate in on an ad-hoc basis to US Medical Affairs related projects.
  • Lead a matrixed, cross functional team that has responsibility to understand the US healthcare environment and the various stakeholders relevant to the ID therapeutic area, identify gaps in the evidence and knowledge needed to support the franchise’s stakeholder-focused value propositions
  • Prioritize and integrate evidence generation activities from across research groups (e.g., Medical Affairs, RWE, epidemiology), and maintain a current, strategically aligned integrated evidence generation plan (IEGP), and evolve it to better meet needs of various stakeholders
  • Provide direction and leadership to a cross functional team to synthesize this evidence and information into relevant and actionable knowledge, and develop a strategic publication and communication plan directed to a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Lead the KOL engagement plan for the ID Franchise, with a focus on HIV and Respiratory Infections; and expansion of activities to other ID Diseases states on an ad-hoc basis US Medical Affairs related projects
  • Inside the company:  Regular collaboration with US Medical Affairs Medical Director(s)/VP, V&E Director/Senior Director, MSLs and MSL leadership, CLs and CL leadership, Medical Communication Lead & Public Relation, legal, HCC, regulatory, and commercial leaders to align on Data generation strategy, process and deliverables
  • Outside the company:  Collaboration with thought leaders and study investigators

Qualifications
  • The position requires a MD/DO, PhD or PharmD and at least 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • The candidate should have a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrix environment with cross functional teams
  • Knowledge of Medical Affairs is preferred
  • Knowledge of the Infectious Disease therapeutic area is preferred
  • The candidate must be a highly motivated, organized, self-starter with a demonstrated track record of leadership and achievement
  • Experience in scientific writing and publication or communication strategy is a plus
  • Experience with data analysis and evidence generation is a plus
  • The ability and willingness to travel within the US (up to 20%) to support the ID, US Medical Affairs Team with occasional overseas travel is required
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to build collaborations across scientific and commercial functions is essential
  • The individual should have good business acumen and be a visionary and innovative thinker with the capability to work in a matrixed and sometimes unstructured environment
  • The individual will need to have demonstrated a strong proficiency to analyze, evaluate, and integrate large amounts of data, including from multiple sources
  • The individual will need to have demonstrated the ability to provide direction and leadership to a cross functional team to synthesize the evidence and information into relevant and actionable knowledge, and develop a strategic publication and communication plan, in collaboration with the Medical Communication Lead, directed to a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders
