The Field Manager Private Insurance is responsible for leading customer facing engagement of private insurance carriers, benefit advisor and other key stakeholders within the Canadian health benefits market. The Field Manager will be responsible for contributing to the achievement of organizational access goals for new and existing products. The successful candidate should be self-motivated, able to demonstrate a strategic mindset and enjoy working in a team environment. The role is field based.


Shape the development of private payor strategies for the reimbursement of Janssen products
Lead the development and execution of private insurance strategies with key private payer stakeholders – insurers, benefits advisors and vendors
Achieve maximum quality reimbursement of Janssen products with private insurers
Build strong relationships with key customers within the private insurance market place
Develop a strong working partnership with internal business partners to ensure coordination of reimbursement activities across the organization
Participate on and/or lead key brand reimbursement strategy teams in the province/region and in head office where appropriate
30% national travel required – need to be in head office frequently

Experience working with private insurers or experience in government relations specific to healthcare are important assets
Proven strategic mindset with strong track record of business accomplishments and deliverables
Demonstrate a high competency in negotiation.  The position includes negotiations for access to reimbursement, listing criteria and product listing agreements / contract negotiations of significant dollar values
Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills, scientific and analytical skills
4+ years Pharmaceutical or Medical experience, with account management and/or market access experience
Degree in the life sciences or business.  Advanced (Master’s) degree beneficial
Demonstrated ability to achieve results driven by collaboration on cross-functional teams 
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. French language skills an asset
Well developed presentation skills
Ability to manage complexity in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
Strong organizational and project management skills
Ability to think critically, innovatively and have a strong business acumen
Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to partner effectively across an organization and externally to customers
Demonstrated capability to influence without authority
