The Data Integration Expert will be responsible for supporting systems and optimizing approved technologies related to areas of responsibility and to deliver on their potential in providing accessible and accurate data across Global Clinical Development Operations (GCDO) thereby improving the user experience in managing and accessing data and delivering value to all stakeholders.
 
Principal Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and integrate existing data collection systems ensuring that they are meeting the requirements of customers across GCDO and Therapeutic Areas (TAs) and are compliant with applicable regulations.
  • Contribute to initiatives to yield faster and more effective incident management, efficient change management services and will limit the number of systems interactions for the end users.  Support continuous improvement framework with respect to systems deployment, life cycle management and enhancements supported by greater partnerships with suppliers, Clinical Research Organization (CRO) partners and industry user groups.
  • Contribute to a high functioning diverse team to enable industry-leading electronic data flow.  Utilize technical expertise and significant experience gained through working with diverse and complex business processes and associated systems infrastructures.
  • Contribute to the Data Collection Solutions team active in the development, implementation, integration, maintenance and continuous improvement of systems supporting GCDO’s end to end processes.
  • Optimize GCDO Data Collection Systems.
  • Support and maintain business needs and integrating the systems infrastructure related to data collection across GCDO by working with Enabling Business Information Systems (EBIS) process data collections, data standards, integrated Business Intelligence services teams, as well as GCDO Information Technology, external partners and vendors.
  • Contribute to the integration of several internal or external systems, content management, performance management and lifecycle management associated with all systems under scope of responsibility.
  • Provide support for all clinical development systems supporting activities such as data capture (including, but not limited to, Electronic Data Capture (EDC), eSource, eHealth, ePRO) and data integration.
  • May participate in projects within the EDC and integration groups responsibilities.
  • Support and participate in vendor management in partnership with Information Technology, with respect to systems in area of responsibility, thereby optimizing value for the organization with respect to the deployment and operation of systems across GCDO.
  • Contribute to a continuous improvement and innovation culture with respect to the current and future systems infrastructure to optimize the user experience across GCDO and with internal and external partners.
  • Deliver and continuously improve a harmonized approach to system validation and level 1/2/3 support across GCDO for internal and external systems.
  • Participate in an internal and external benchmarking network facilitating the distillation of best practices from leading organizations externally whilst also identifying best practices from internal teams within Johnson & Johnson.
  • Contribute to long term strategy and the successful execution of annual goals and objectives of Technology Platform Operations team in line with EBIS, GCDO and Research Development Operations (RDO) imperatives.
  • Participate in GCDO and cross sector initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working within systems covering clinical development within the Pharmaceutical industry is required.
  • Knowledge of the clinical trial process is required.
  • Knowledge of multiple cross-functional eClinical systems, industry trends, industry guidelines and regulations is required.
  • Knowledge of Global Clinical Practices (GCPs), International Conference on Harmonization (ICH), and 21 CFR Part 11 is required.
  • Experience with Electronic Data Capture (EDC) or related systems is preferred.
  • Project management skills required.
  • Experience with working in a global environment is preferred.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have excellent analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Must have strong planning and organizational skills.
  • The ability to collaborate and build relationships with internal and external partners in a cross-functional environment is required.
