The Senior Marketing Manager, Global Innovation & Pipeline for Blood Glucose Monitoring and Point of Care Solutions needs to be a seasoned marketing leader, with a number of years’ experience at this level.  This person will be responsible for driving strategic thinking for our future product pipeline as well as leading several, global, critical new product launches for OneTouch blood glucose monitoring products.  The Sr. Marketing Manager will play a key role across program management to ensure new products are effectively planned and developed for launch in strong collaboration with the Research and Development, Operations, Digital Innovation & Pipeline, Global Brand Management and Commercial Regions (Americas, EMEA, Asia-Pacific).  Strategic thinking, program management, strong business acumen, customer focus, technical product development, and innovation skill sets are critical as this individual must operate in a highly complex environment and serve multiple stakeholders and functions.  This leader needs to be able to work independently interacting and influencing Sr. Executives and cross functional leadership to drive his/her deliverables.
Specifically, the Senior Marketing Manager has the following responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Global Director, Innovation & Pipeline BGM & Point of Care and R&D to contribute significantly to a rolling innovation portfolio pipeline. This includes HCP & Patient insight development, customer and market assessments, and defining new business, experience and product opportunities for glucose monitoring. 
  • Lead with accountability the commercial aspects of new product development projects through ideation, pre-stage gate and early stage-gate NPD processes. This includes:
    • Generating concepts, opportunity assessment, feasibility & technical assessment with R&D
    • Creating global business cases in partnership with Global Business Analytics and from regional input
    • Defining the value proposition from customer insights
    • Developing the marketing strategy (including branding, trademarking, product positioning, core functional and emotional benefits, reasons to believe, claims strategy, and packaging
  • Lead commercial launch teams enrolling cross functional partners (e.g. R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, legal, supply chain, operations)
  • Drive enrollment of cross-functional and regional partners and leadership to the commercial and portfolio strategy
  • Collaborate and partner with downstream Global Brand Management on overall launch and portfolio planning and launch execution
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required; an MBA or equivalent strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of 8 years’ of progressive marketing experience or equivalent in healthcare marketing, strategic development, or product management (targeting professionals and patients is required
  • Global new product strategy or new product development marketing is required with a demonstrated record of business and marketing leadership
  • Global brand management experience preferred, including but not limited to brand strategy development, integrated communications delivery, portfolio management, business plan development & execution
  • Prior experience working with market insights/research and agency management strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional and senior management to impact decision making is required
  • Prior experience working in a global environment strongly preferred with the ability to work cross-culturally
  • Prior people management experience is required
  • Diabetes blood glucose monitoring (BGM) category experience is a plus
  • This role is located in Wayne, PA and will require up to 30% domestic and international travel and willingness to work across global time zones
