The Sr. Manager is accountable to assess organizational needs, align training strategies based on those needs, and to develop team members. The Sr. Manager is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of ongoing learning programs for the ID and NS franchises. The Sr. Manager is responsible to independently maintain expert status in learning design and development, adult learning theory and innovative technologies. Accordingly, the Sr. Manager ensures that learning initiatives are in alignment with and support Sales and Marketing strategies and objectives and are grounded in adult learning theory principles. The individual provides strategic direction for training and development programs across the ID and NS franchises to ensure consistent approaches, coordination of efforts, and sharing of best practices, from new hire curriculum to blended learning for sustainability. The Sr. Manager coaches others on using adult learning principles, facilitation skills, and innovative learning technology to develop learning solutions. The Sr. Manager also provides ongoing coaching and development of Sales Managers/Trainers to foster their short-term and long-term career growth.

Learning Solutions & Platforms
• Ensures alignment of learning and development solutions with short-term and long-term business objectives across the organization
• Establish trust and credibility with a high level of business acumen to credibly make business cases through linking current and anticipated business challenges with learning and development solutions
• Make appropriate recommendations for new or enhanced learning solutions and other relevant resources. This includes learning objectives, target audience, core content, delivery methodologies, time to develop and deliver, potential costs and other required resources, change management and change control requirements, etc. Create shared accountability for outcome & success
• Coaches others and act as strategic advisor and partner in the design, facilitation, delivery and evaluation of effective learning experiences
• Provide input on strategic vision, tactical improvements within the department bringing shared expertise and guidance to other members of the team
• Encourages others to use innovative tools and technology to enhance the learning experience and assists others with adopting new technology solutions
• Understands, applies, and remains current in adult learning principles and advanced facilitation skills to develop and execute the most effective learning programs
• Monitors and evaluates team’s progress towards goals, while managing budget, compliance guidelines, resources, and workload to maximize outputs and effectively address training needs and opportunities
• Partners with vendors to manage the development of new training content. Manages RFP process, evaluates progress, and ensures measurable return for project outputs

Collaborative Partnering
• Collaborate and create strategic partnerships with business leaders, SL&D peers and subject matter experts to assess and identify the learning needs of the business
• Integrates an understanding of the business objectives, strategies, and operational procedures of cross-functional partners (e.g., field management, RBDs, Marketing, and brand team) into continuous learning solutions
• Builds and leverages internal and external partnerships to identify and ensure alignment of learning solutions with critical business needs
Team Management
• Sets and communicates goals, expectations, and priorities for Managers or Trainers to ensure business needs are met
• Helps team adapt to shifting priorities, cross-functional objectives, and the unpredictable environment
• Serves as a role model and mentor to motivate team members to show initiative, be innovative, and demonstrate high work quality
• Ensures team consistently works within compliance and regulatory guidelines
• Facilitates learning opportunities, networking, and team member exposure to higher levels of the organization
• Helps others navigate the organization successfully and influence decision makers at various levels
• Recruits, hires, and develops a diverse team of talent with the ability to deliver results and that shows potential as future leaders
• Provides coaching and feedback based on individual’s developmental needs for current and future roles

• Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree preferred. Emphasis on instructional design, adult learning, organization development, educational technology or related academic discipline preferred
• Five years of instructional design, development, and implementation experience is required
• Sales training experience and knowledge of pharmaceutical sales process strongly preferred
• Experience in people management preferred
• Proven ability to build a team in a matrix environment preferred
• Prior training experience is strongly preferred and experience in delivering training in multiple learning platforms (workshop, virtual, e-learning, simulation, gamification) is also preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
• Experience with creative software and e-learning authoring tools (e. g. Articulate Storyline 2, Animate, Lectora or Captivate)
• Experience with content development tools (e. g. Photoshop, Acrobat, Audition or Premier)
• Documented experience in developing, implementing and evaluating content material of learning management systems (LMS) using SCORM, AICC or xAPI (Tin Can)
• Experience using ISD models (e. g. ADDIE, SAM, Action-Mapping). Candidate must live in or be willing to relocate to Titusville, NJ and up to 20% travel will be required.
