Janssen, a division of Johnson & Johnson (HK) Ltd. is recruiting for an Associate Scientific Advisor, located in Hong Kong

  • Scientific Advisor/ Associate Scientific Advisor are member of Medical Affairs Department and play a major role in providing expert scientific advice on branding and strategy development for assigned therapeutic areas
  • Individual in this position facilitate pipeline and marketed products scientific relationships with external stakeholders and collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop medical strategy in alignment with therapeutic brand and company strategy
  • Responsible for the implementation of medical affairs activities including KOL development, scientific communication, medical education, data generation, pre-approval access, unsolicited medical information, review of promotional materials and internal training

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Medical Affairs Strategy for the responsible products with close collaboration with cross-functional team in alignment to brand strategy and budget management
  • Provides “expert medical advice/ insights” into overall launch and product strategy to cross-functional team during new indication or product launch
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with external stakeholders for the contribution of medical activities
  • Maintain a high level of expertise and up-to-date knowledge about the therapeutic area, treatment guidelines or competitor’s landscape
  • Be seen as the local therapeutic area/ product expert to both external and external stakeholders
  • Designing, developing and delivering effective presentations or coordinates continuing educational programs for health care professionals, medical groups or government agencies
  • Development of data generation program/ activities to address local data gaps
  • Manage the communication and logistics of pre-approval access program with internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide medical information upon unsolicited request
  • Review and approval of promotional and patient materials according to local laws, code of practice and company SOP compliance
  • Conduct disease or product training to internal staff as/ when required
  • Ensure all medical activities are comply with integrity and company compliance standard

Education:

  • Pharm, PhD and/ or Master Degree in science or equivalent

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • Prefer at least 2 years relevant experience in the pharmaceutical or medical industry
  • Candidate with no or less experience will be considered for junior position
  • Strong business acumen, pharmaceutical market, scientific and therapeutic knowledge with good understanding in regulatory environment
  • Solid experience and proven track record in business/ team partnership and business relationship building
  • Good planning, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Self-driven, enthusiastic and good team collaboration
  • Good communication, inter-personal and presentation skills. Excellent command in both written and spoken Cantonese and English
  • Be able to travel to overseas meeting/ congress and work over weekend if/ when necessary.
