The Manager, Corporate & Government Affairs is responsible for the public face of Janssen Australia’s neuroscience business. The role supports Janssen’s engagement with vital stakeholders for the neuroscience business: patients, patient groups, clinicians, the media and the general public; and to helps us meet Janssen’s and Johnson & Johnson Australia’s business objectives. The role is also responsible for engaging with Janssen’s internal stakeholders, promoting understanding and awareness of the activities of the neuroscience business.
Your primary focus will be corporate communications and engagement activities associated with the neuroscience business and designed to drive business objectives. This will involve building both external and internal stakeholder relationships to support your work. You will work with senior management to develop and implement appropriate communications strategies for business-wide initiatives with measurable outcomes. In this dynamic role you will also manage the annual budget allocation combining corporate and government affairs and business unit allocations.
With a deep understanding of digital and social platforms, you will also develop communications for these channels that drive dialogue and engagement and enhance company reputation. This role will also have responsibility for the development of other strategic corporate communications including: media releases, media holding statements, media backgrounders, fact sheets, external and internal presentations, spokesperson briefing documents and other corporate material.
In addition, you will contribute to the proactive management of issues to protect J&J brand equity, providing appropriate communications and stakeholder relations support for business-critical issues and challenges. You will identify relevant public policy issues including the development of public affairs and government relations plans and initiatives related to the therapy area.

To be successful in this role, you should have the leadership qualities in the following:
Demonstrated experience in communications, preferably in a company, NGO, government agency or public relations agency
Professional maturity and ability to work effectively across all levels, functions, regions and backgrounds. Corporate and internal communications experience and expertise
Ability to stay aligned with overall strategic direction while applying diligence and attention to detail in execution and reliably meeting deadlines
Understanding of the Australian and healthcare media landscape as well as social media and public policy formulation process
Experience in the healthcare industry would be desirable.
