Johnson&Johnson Vision Care is recruiting for a Trade Activation Manager, located in our Pinewood Campus, Wokingham.

You will lead, co-ordinate and deliver the instore execution of core initiatives aligned to the Johnson & Johnson Vision annual business plan both for the brand and in close collaboration with key customers across all channels where we operate.

The role will major on the detailed execution of customer brand marketing and in-store plans, ensuring that all materials and products produced meets both our retailer’s needs and engages our end consumers, driving conversion and growing penetration in the contact lens category.

Key responsibilities: 
  • This role covers all channels and select key customers with activations to be executed on the ACUVUE® and Blink® Brands across independents practices, high street chains and online.
  • This will include core brand and trade marketing activity as well as priority NPD launches
  • This is an external facing role, you will excel at establishing relationships with those responsible for instore and online activation across our top customers.
  • Key internal partners will be within the Marketing, Professional, Regulatory and Commercial Teams
  • Assume all activations have digital elements. The successful candidate will be comfortable planning and executing integrated digital workstreams.
  • Lead the team to deliver activation across all identified initiatives – both brand and in-store through key customers.
  • Be the go-to contact for our key Customers for all elements of trade activation.
  • Lead projects across all brands with external agencies ensuring quality briefs are provided in a timely manner, in parallel handle all internal approval requirements utilising approved systems.
  • Provide clear guidance to the team on lead times required to deliver on a commitment to the customer and ensure adherence to these
  • Be the gatekeeper of return on investment across the team and drive optimisation moving forward, including close management of defined customer A&P budgets.
  • Nurture and maintain effective working relationships with J&Js appointed external agents ensuring projects are delivered on time, in full and at a competitive rate 
  • Be the lead marketing and customer voice through the annual business planning cycle and customer JBP process, feeding into the relevant brand leads to help inform plans.
  • Operate in a structured but agile manner to respond to emerging operational trends
  • Ongoing, closely liaise with brand marketing teams to stay up to date and cognisant of brand strategy and campaigns and translate into meaningful customer plans and meetings
  • Day to day management of 1 direct report, Trade Marketing Executive, ensuring they are highly motivated, clear on their deliverables and are developed in line with recognised Johnson&Johnson development frameworks. 
  • The role requires a strong cross-functional approach with participation on specific project teams.

Qualifications
Education:
Educated to Degree level with a minimum 2.1 achievement.

Experience and skills: 

Required:
  • In-store communications, trade/retail marketing experience (5 years + in consumer/medical/FMCG).
  • Experience with handling trade activations from conception, through execution to evaluation. 
  • Experience in working with external agencies and maintaining effective relationships.
  • Project management experience is critical.

Preferred:
  • Experience working with High Street retailers required, medical/pharma experience also useful.
  • Evidence of successful team leadership.

Other:
  • Maximum and flexible availability to attend external meetings at the customers discretion to ensure needs are met and projects are delivered in a timely manner (up to 30% of time at customer meetings, various UK locations).
  • Full, clean driving licence
