The DELIVER organization strives to deliver an exceptional customer experience through leading critical customer-facing functions such as distribution, customer service, logistics, and transportation across the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies.

DELIVER supports all three sectors of Johnson & Johnson: Medical Devices, Pharmaceutical, and Consumer Products, and DELIVER AP manages a complex network of Distribution Centers (DCs) and Customer Service centers across Asia-Pacific supporting multiple distribution channels to J&J’s broad range of customers. Since 2013, DELIVER has undertaken a complete review of its network and consolidated its footprint while driving best-in-class distribution operations, leveraging a third-party logistics sourcing base.

PURPOSE OF POSITION
  • Design and implement the regional Trade Compliance roadmap to strengthen overall capability, compliance and efficiency across processes and standards

RESPONSIBILITIES / PRINCIPAL DUTIES (Essential Functions)
  • Contributes to definition of import / export policies, procedures, methods and practices
  • Tailors global standards for regional regulations and market realities
  • Provides expert insights on obligations of companies importing and exporting consumer, hospital and pharmacy products and materials
  • Implements consistent global approach to managing corrective actions to ensure compliance
  • Develops, monitors, reports on a strategy to improve compliance against import / export obligations across Deliver and peer functions
  • Identifies capability gaps to improve efficiency and define how to address
  • Defines processes and standards to be implemented to harmonize Trade Compliance
  • Ensure efficient deployment (e.g., timing, impact for business, low impacts on day-to-day operational activities)
  • Standardize WoW and processes across the broader Trade Compliance Community
  • Lead the implementation of strategic initiatives and projects related to Trade Compliance within APAC and partner with Global team
  • Builds exceptional partnership and relationship across affiliate/regional/global teams to scout business opportunities and translates them into solutions
  • Ensures effective integration of global trade compliance processes and standards within APAC
  • Provides strategic and process support to local Trade Compliance teams
  • Leads Trade Compliance projects, programs, or initiatives cross company ensuring new standards are understood and deployed
  • Proactively manages all formal and informal communication processes towards her/his team members
  • Acts as escalation point for all strategic and process issues at regional/global level and liaise with Global Team for actions
  • Is accountable for monitoring KPI and proposing and following-up corrective action plans with affiliates/global teams
  • Think “lean” and permanently acts to ensure the lean thinking mindset is embedded within his or her team

Qualifications
  • University degree (BA or BS) or equivalent, advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in several Supply Chain/Trade Compliance roles
  • Fluent in English, additional Asian languages preferred
  • Experience working in a global function and matrix environment
  • Experience in building best practices in Operations efficiency with a focus on Trade Compliance
  • Strong overall expertise in Trade Compliance process design and standards definition
  • Strong Customer orientation and pro-active attitude
  • Proven track record developing and building diverse, high-performance teams with a strong sense of mission
  • Ability to promote a vision and drive change to transform organizations via strong engagement/communication
  • Ability to collaborate and build strong partnerships internally and externally with customer focus
  • Experience leading project management organizations and driving significant Trade Compliance deployment engagements
  • Experience and success building best-in-class organizations (e.g., building standards, designing processes)
  • Presence and persistence to face off with and be a challenge partner to business leaders throughout regional Deliver
  • Ability to manage complexity and changing environment while guaranteeing highest standards of quality and compliance. Ready to challenge the status quo
  • Strong ability to manage remote and multi-cultural resources both directly and indirectly
