JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Role Purpose

  • End to end business country ownership and accountability of all employees, organization and results, including full P&L responsibility
  • Shapes the country business strategy in alignment with the broader Nordic strategy
  • External face and spokesperson of Janssen in country of responsibility
  • Member of Nordic Board and Local JnJ Statutory Board Member
  • Lead a local management board with representatives from functional leaders for Marketing, Sales, Medical Affairs, Market Access and Government & Patient Affairs.
  • Reporting line to the Nordic Managing Director
 

Key Role Activities

  • End to end business responsibility with full P&L for entire local organization
  • Country budget allocation/optimization across TA’s & functions
  • Decisions on staffing and resourcing
  • Build the right organizational structure and capabilities and keep P&L accountability to achieve short- and long-term objectives
  • Shapes the country business strategy in alignment with the broader Nordic strategy
  • Responsible for leading across the matrix to achieve results
  • Responsible and accountable for Mid Term Plan and Business Plan in country of responsibility
  • Develop strategies and represents J&J to the external market (e.g., regulatory, media, distributors, and other external stakeholders) for all functions - drives the debate ensuring market access, competitiveness and sustainable growth
  • Legal responsibility for Janssen business.  Manages risk, conducts business activities in compliance with ethical and legal requirements
  • Drives a highly productive, highly engaged culture; ensures talent bench strength at all levels and develops new capabilities, including attracting, developing, and retaining key talent (e.g. Oncology, Immunology, HEMAR, MAF, …)
  • Builds and maintains key customer relationships in the region / country
  • Leads collaboration of supporting functions such as Finance, Supply Chain, HR 
  • Has responsibility for Credo based company culture, development and motivation of Janssen organization as a team in alignment with J&J’s Credo values
  • Promotes high team spirit, open minded, proactive network building, best practices sharing
  • Proactively proposing strategic solutions, managing projects & budget, challenging the status quo
  • Actively participate in the Nordic Board bringing the perspective of the local market but also by taking responsibility for a set of topics to champion across the business (e.g. specialist in one specific therapeutic area to challenge colleagues)
  • Communication with others outside Janssen e.g. suppliers, governing bodies, the general public : Health Care Professionals/Health Care Organizations/Other stakeholders, government bodies, media         
  • Communication with others within Janssen (including any other J&J companies or divisions) : Nordic Management team, Local J&J board, Cross functional local and Nordic leads, Functional EMEA Networks


Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

Required knowledge, skills, experience

  • University Master’s degree or equivalent
  • Sales, marketing, and operations knowledge and experience focused on brand and market share growth
  • Experience working in the pharma healthcare segment and knowledge of pharma brands, esp. Oncology and Immunology
  • Exposure to market access challenges and pricing strategies for innovative medicines
  • Track record in working with regulatory, HTA agencies/industry bodies
  • Proven skill in building highly collaborative and effective relationships across business units and functions and at all levels of the organization, and developing, inspiring and motivating a high performing culture
  • Experience in developing talent and increasing overall bench strength and diversity.
  • Demonstrated track record of innovation and change management in an evolving business environment
  • Strong track record in managing P&Ls, financials and budgets
  • Native local language strongly preferred and fluent English knowledge of both spoken and written
  • International experience as well as local experience is strongly preferred
