Sales Development Manager Trauma, Sweden


As Sales Development Manager (SDM), you have regional responsibility to unlock projects and opportunities and serve as an add-on to sales representatives by leveraging extensive clinical knowledge and superior commercial hunting.


This role is field based and the SDMs expertise will be required at clinical meetings and educational activities for our customers together with the responsible Area Account Manager (AAM). The SDM will also be responsible in tender preparation to maximize business opportunities. As Trauma SDM you will be required to train and educate the clinicians in Trauma products for both upper- and lower extremities. In addition, you will lead New Product Introductions in the field securing maximum profitability and growth in line with DePuy Synthes visions and values. The job requires establishment and execution of regional plans and strategies to gain market shares and contribute to the development of patient care.


Objectives of the Position

  • Assessing competitor activity and implementing a proactive approach to increase sales & market share. Strong focus on unlocking addressable potential.
  • Key player in pre-tender and shaping phase to reach fullest potential.
  • Understanding and identifying customer needs in tender phase.
  • Active participation and collaboration with Sales Mangers and Product Managers in tenders.
  • Understanding and identifying customer needs in tender phase.
  • Promote conversion and growth at pre-defined A-customers.
  • Lead Swedish NPI introduction to the Swedish market together with Sales- and Product Manager
  • High level understanding of GTM, develop profitability at selected customers in collaboration with commercial analysts.
  • Build customer network and establish key strategic partnerships across a wide range of stakeholders including surgeons, nurses, purchasers, referring physicians and hospital administration. Manage the entire sales process from initial contact through proposals, planning, training and service.
  • Build team spirit by acting as a role model and as a link across the geographies within Trauma Sweden.
  • Educate AAMs and new hires together with Sales Manager and Product Manager
  • Key Relationships.
  • External customers and internal colleagues with strong focus on supporting Trauma AAMs.
  • Regional KOLs.

What you will need to succeed

We are looking for highly skilled, goal oriented and structured person with great ability to prioritize and make things happen. The candidate must have a positive mindset and be able to act with short notice and handle several parallel ongoing customer activities.


Furthermore, our candidate needs to be a good communicator and have good presentation skills with high focus on customer and sales development. Excel at developing and maintain effective working relationships with customers and key opinion leaders based on understanding their concerns, needs and motivations.


To be successful in this role, you have a drive and motivation to grow our Trauma portfolio together with the teams, thus jointly contributes to the overall DePuy Synthes and J&J business.

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent (required).
  • A minimum of 5 years professional experience from sales within the Medtech field (required).
  • Good knowledge of the Microsoft office suite (required).
  • Fluent spoken and written Swedish and English language (required).
  • A valid European driving license (required).
  • Ability to spend ca 2 nights/week away from home (required).
  • Deep knowledge and experience from the Trauma area (required).
  • Experience working with tender business (advantaged).
  • A preferred home location is situated in the West (Västra Götaland) or South (Skåne) part of Sweden.
