Job Summary:
Manage the marketing activities for Hips portfolio in Southeast Asia. Responsible for the crafting of marketing strategies for the Hips business and execute the strategies for the business, with focus on new products. Work closely with the Leadership Team in Southeast Asia to identify opportunities in the various markets, from developed to emerging markets. Develop robust Professional Education programs to drive and up skill surgeon training. Increase our Sales Force Effectiveness through focused sales training curriculum and differentiated selling tools.

Job Responsibilities:
Marketing Strategy, Planning & Competitive Analysis
  • Conception of marketing strategies, preparation of marketing plans and its implementation using Big Picture Marketing framework
  • Liaise with marketing and advertising agencies to build a strong product communication plan around portfolio for external branding
  • Work closely with sales team to have an in depth understanding of market trends and competitive activities and adjust marketing plans to respond to market needs
  • Provide monthly update on the execution of marketing strategies and competitor activities

New Product Introductions

  • New Product Introductions (NPI) – Prepare, plan, together with the Leadership and sales teams to identify new product introductions to maintain market leadership, create first mover advantage or drive to competitor conversions. This exercise should be done during business planning
  • Develop a communication plan both internally and externally to create demand before the product is launched
  • Prepare a pre-launch, launch and post launch plan to flawlessly execute a new product launch

Profession Education
  • Work with the Southeast Asia & Asia Pacific Teams to develop and execute Professional Educational programs for surgeons from building awareness to trial to adoption of a procedure/product
  • Provide surgeon selection guide to sales team to ensure the surgeons selected for Professional Educational programs matches the program offered
  • Help in tracking procedure adoption post training to ensure compliance
  • Drive cadaveric or sawbone workshops to increase the adoption of targeted new or core products
  • Utilize KOLs within Southeast Asia to drive Professional Education programs to enhance the overall surgical skills of surgeons within the country or region
  • Leverage on Centers of Excellence within Southeast Asia to drive surgeon training

KOL Management & Market Development Activities
  • Build and maintain key customer relationships to develop key opinion leaders and reference base to support professional education and market development activities
  • Develop robust pipeline of KOLs for new product launches and Profession Educational programs
  • Establish Centers of Excellence with KOLs to provide Professional Education training to surgeons from Southeast Asia and Asia Pacific

Product Management
  • Drive innovative professional education of product with surgeons to drive product/procedure adoption
  • Develop new procedures after identifying sustainable opportunities in the market
  • Work closely with Asia Pacific or Global teams to get alignment on new product introductions. Maintain robust New Product Introduction plan to create a competitive advantage for sales teams.
  • Ensure product competence of sales force through regular product training and updates
  • Develop pricing strategy for local Marketing or Sales Managers either based on cost-based pricing, competitive pricing or customer-based pricing before the launch of products or during market assessments

Transfer of Success Models (TSM)
  • Study the successful business models from Asia Pacific and Global teams, and subsequently customize and implement them in Southeast Asia
  • Identify and transfer of Best Practice Sharing across the sales teams within Southeast Asia

Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Science, Biochemical Engineering or related field preferred

Professional Experience Requirements:
  • 5-10 years demonstrated leadership experience in a sales/marketing function or equivalent, preferably related experience
  • Relevant experience in the Southeast Asia region
  • Must have in-depth understanding of the medical device industry with special interest in Orthopaedics
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, multi-cultural communication and leadership skills are essential to incumbent’s success

Other Requirements:
  • Demonstrated superior leadership, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present to all levels of the company, including executive management
  • Capable of handling multiple projects/tasks simultaneously in highly dynamic and stressful environments
  • Ability to work harmoniously in cross functional, team-based environment and effectively manage change at all levels of the supply/demand process
  • Significant travel within the Southeast Asia region (up to 40%)
