The Janssen Infectious Diseases and Vaccines (ID&V) R&D organization and the World Without Disease Accelerator (WWDA) together employ around 800 people in Leiden, The Netherlands and share a campus with manufacturing and testing sites that employ more than 1000 people for Janssen. What are you going to do?
The Science & Business Fellowship (SBF) is aimed at the early recruitment of the best available young biotech talents. Each year a selection of five to eight young, excellent scientific talents with recent PhD degrees and an interest that goes beyond research itself will start an intensive and demanding two year internal scientific training program within Janssen.

You finished a PhD in the field of Biomedical Sciences, Pharmacy, Molecular Biology, Immunology or similar. Next to being an experienced researcher you have a feeling for the commercial, business, and leadership related aspects of the field as well.

At the end of this Fellowship you will be able to continue your (scientific) leadership career within Janssen. There is no pre-determined path that you have to follow, as your development will depend on your personal interests and ambitions and the possibilities available. Examples of roles that you could think of include a project lead or a Technical Integrator (TI). The TI is a heavy project management role, where you bring together all of the inputs for a particular discipline within a project. You will participate in project strategy, develop documentation, project timelines, planning, budget, materials, communication, etc. Growing to this role within five years is possible, however very challenging.
Recruitment & selection for the Janssen Science & Business Fellowship is partly outsourced to Procam.
- Screening of resume and motivation letter. If additional information is needed a short interview by phone may be required.
- Assessment day at the Procam office in Amersfoort, consisting of capability tests, a personality questionnaire, an interview with a Procam Consultant Selection and Matching and an interview with a Career coach. As a result of this assessment day, a personal profile will be drawn up.
- On site interviews at Janssen in Leiden, where you will speak with several different stakeholder
