Be Vital in this role:

Janssen is currently looking for an individual with demonstrated capabilities to take on the role of Commercial Accounts and Analytics Manager within the Business Strategy & Operations Department.

Reporting to the Director, Business Strategy and Operations, the primary focus of the role will be on value, and solutions that optimise business outcomes through our key strategic customers enterprise wide.

Central to this, will be leading the commercial activities and team surrounding Lifecycle management, negotiations/arrangements, new product access, along with other value initiatives.

Strong commercial acumen will be required to be able to maximize sales and profitability in target accounts to achieve and exceed sales targets within a designated territory. The successful candidate will also develop and deliver long-term preferred partnering relationships with internal and external strategic accounts.

Some of the key responsibilities for this position include:
  • Leadership of the Commercial Accounts and Analytics Team (CAAT); providing coaching & performance management to team
  • Ensure a high-performance team culture that values cross-functional collaboration, disciplined execution and customer focus
  • Lead and oversee the contract and tender processes for state health authorities & hospital accounts in relation to products subject to commercial terms
  • Ensure timely and compliant submission of all documentation required through these contract and tender processes
  • Develop the value proposition in collaboration with relevant internal stakeholders to maximise profitability and long-term volume retention
  • Manage commercial relationships and negotiations with key private groups including wholesalers and compounders
  • Maintain strong relationships and open communication around monitoring of compliance to existing arrangements and ensuring future opportunities remain open to Janssen
  • Work with the Business Units (BU’s) across the enterprise in the development of Loss of Exclusivity (LOE) strategy and tactics
  • Understand relevant dynamics within each Therapy Area (TA) to enable early collaboration and co-creation of defense strategies and solutions that will create a competitive advantage against biosimilar or generic entrants that are highly relevant for the unique market situation and aligned to business strategy

To be successful in this role, you should have the following:
  • PhD and/or master’s degree or equivalent in pharmacy, life sciences, public health, business degree or related
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience within a pharmaceutical/medical device company
  • Minimum 3 years people leadership experience
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to manage multiple stakeholders within a complex matric environment
  • Strong commercial and clinical sales experience within Hospital/Retail Community ethical dispensary Channels
  • Ability to think strategically with strong presentation skills and customer focus
  • Familiarity with the Industry Code of Conduct (Australia and New Zealand)
  • Solid understanding of the Australian Healthcare System
  • Commercial experience in negotiating large scale contracts or agreements
